Today we’d like to introduce you to Kylah Williams.
Kylah, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
When I first started, I believed that I could build my brand with crayons, Vaseline, and tubes in the sixth grade. With these few items I believed I could make lipstick. BIG MISTAKE. After the lipstick fiasco I look a long break from building my brand. I started again four years later and decided that even though I couldn’t make my product, I had business management skills. Here I am today, running my business on my own that I built from the ground up.
Has it been a smooth road?
It has not been a smooth road at all. When it comes to finding a vendor, that is the hardest part. You have to sample each gloss vendor and adjust to what they are available to do. I lost one vendor and had to adjust to a new vendor, her tubes, and her prices. This was not an easy process at all but it was worth it.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Fairy Gloss Muva story. Tell us more about the business.
Fairy Gloss Muva specializes specifically in gloss. I am known for having glosses that aren’t just shine. My gloss actually locks in moisture for your lips and has different scents. I am mostly proud of the fact that I did this by myself. Even thought it took years, this was a brand I built from the ground up. I sat in church and wrote down everything I wanted and made it come true.
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
In the next decade, I could see myself being a lot more successful than I am now. Within the next year, I’ll be attending college which will expand my audience a lot seeing that there is a lot of notable people on campus. I’ll add wand tubes to expand the options provided to customers.
