Meet Aylissa Suarez

Today we’d like to introduce you to Aylissa Suarez.

Aylissa, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I started working as a Customer Representative in the Medical Field in 2009. In 2016, I began school to become a Medical Assitant. I graduated in July 2018. I still felt something was missing and had just left a job I was extremely unhappy at so I decided to begin my own business in March 2019. I have managed to work a fulltime job and still progress my business as a Makeup Artist/Brow Artist.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It was definitely not a smooth road for me. During school, I dealt with no sleep for two years. I went to school during the day and worked fulltime at night. Still having to take care of my family. When I decided to open my own business, I was not working so it was really difficult obtaining the money I needed to get my license and certifications needed.

Please tell us more about your work, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
My proudest moment as a business owner was being blessed enough to assist a close friend with opening Maria’s Hair Studio and obtaining every license and certification needed to operate.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
I feel sincerity, patience and staying humble is a huge impact on surviving in this industry.
