I started as a color specialist in 2001 at a departmentalized corporate salon. I’ve always been fascinated by the magic we can create through the combination of color theory and chemistry.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Generally speaking it has been fairly smooth. I’m the kind of person who believes strongly in goal setting and planning. If you stay ready you don’t have to get ready.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Just Roots Color Bar – what should we know?
I am a co-owner, a colorist, head of education, and an Artist for L’Oreal Professionnel. I’m best known for my creative formulation skills and doing beautiful, traditional french balalyage. I’m most proud of our proficiency and efficiency. We specialize in beautiful, healthy color that doesn’t take all day.
Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
Absolutely, I have to give credit to my business partners Juan and Gabriel. We all bring something different to the table and running this business without either of them would be like driving a car without all of its wheels. I am the tech guy, Gabriel is so creative, and Juan brings the business sense. It really takes a village.
