Today we’d like to introduce you to Rebecca Harris.
Rebecca, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Six years ago, my husband and I were gifted by my father with him investing in our dreams of having our own company. From there, we built a carpet cleaning and floor restoration company from scratch. We use to go door to door just to get our name out and would hold a big sign with our name on it on the side of the road at times. From there, we gathered a few customers. In the beginning it was difficult getting our name out there and we had a few jobs here and there. Husband had to work two jobs all while we were working on building our company up.
Once our customers started to brag about our services and the care that we provide on social media we literally took off overnight. Shawn has over 26 years of experience in this industry. Myself, I have 15 years in customer service and sales and have been in this field now 6. Together we make a great team between his attention to detail and service and my care with handling and operating the behind the scenes and phones. During these six years of growing our business we have had four children. Vincent 6, Emma 4, Abigail 18 months and Johnathan is eight months. Life is very busy running a business and raising tiny humans and we love it. Our customers love the fact that we are a real-life everyday family and we handle business with excellence. Social media has really helped spread the word about our services and we truly are grateful for it. We truly provide a quality of care in our business that sets us apart.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, it has not. Getting started was hard, scary and at times there was no business. Getting our name out among the hundreds of other carpet cleaning companies out there was a real challenge. Once social media was discovered it made a true difference, customers started spreading the word for us and our business took off.
The challenge today would be keeping up with the demand of our services. We are now at that part in our path were we need to grow and expand and that has a whole new set of challenges but is very exciting seeing us grow.
Please tell us about Stainbusters Carpet Cleaning.
Stainbusters Carpet Cleaning provides a true steam cleaning when it comes to your carpet and floors for your residential or commercial needs. We specialize also in Grout/Tile cleaning, Natural stone cleanings, Upholstery cleaning and area rug cleanings. If it can be steamed cleaned we have you covered. We specialize in urine removal and hard stain removal (hint as to why we are named Stainbusters) We are known for getting those floors beautiful again and all while having it be a stress-free process. Our customers love how we are open and honest with them about their situations with stains and love how we truly show we care. We set the bar high with our services and have little extras we do like providing a seal-a-door to keep the Texas heat out and the ac inside. We donate our services as well when we hear someone is in need. Sometimes just doing something nice just because can really make an impact on people and if we can make you smile or a difference in your day than that is what makes us happy. We truly believe that if you do good and are always honest that good things will always come your way in some form or fashion and for us that’s our good name being put out there by those we serve.
What makes me proud to be the owner of Stainbusters Carpet Cleaning is the fact that we do work hard for our business, customers and community. If it wasn’t for our clients we would not be where we are today and we a truly grateful for them. Makes us proud when we hear folks say “I’ve had my carpets cleaned before but I have never had them this clean and you got those stains out I was told would not come out”.
What sets us apart is our upfront and clarity on what we do and provide and customers love that we can quote over the phone and not surprise them with extra charges here and there.
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
My favorite childhood memory is of my grandmother. She is an inspirational woman. I remember laying on the couch watching I Love Lucy or Bewitched why she would be baking. We went to church all the time and would go to lunch afterwards usually and for some reason I remember dropping off laundry often at the dry cleaners and getting the chiclets gum while waiting.

- We have a $99 minimum which can get you up to 3 standard size rooms (12×14 spare bedroom size)
- Standard grout cleaning is 75 cents a square foot
- Our urine enzyme treatment and hard stain treatment is $50 per room NOT per spot
