Today we’d like to introduce you to Annah Nicole Smith.
Annah Nicole, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
For as long as I can remember my one main passion was to help people. One midday in the middle of what was probably my freshman year of high school, I discovered a platform called YouTube. I became fascinated with learning these tips and tricks from just ordinary people. Then I began thinking what if I put my voice out there and share my tips and tricks. Out of fear I stopped myself from stepping out and sharing my voice. Then one day years and years later, I decided to upload my first YouTube video. After that, I discovered a new passion. I love being able to share my love of beauty, fashion, and lifestyle products. I was able and want to continue to build a community of empowering individuals into embracing their love and passions, despite the fear. Now I’ve branched out into other platforms to continue to grow, not only for myself but also this community that’s being built.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I think my biggest challenge and one that continues to weigh on me is fear. We live in a world where everything you do is held under a microscope. Your online image is what defines your “success”. I know that as a teenager I held back for fear of not being accepted. I wish I could say one day it just disappeared and there I was all confident as ever. Unfortunately, that’s not reality. I still struggle with it. Now that I’ve grown and continuously growing into the woman I hope to be, I’ve learned how to embrace my fear. I realized if what I’m doing doesn’t scare me then I’m not taking a risk. And how could I ever hope to evolve if I’m not embracing that change.
We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
My brand is a beauty and lifestyle influencer. I share my advice, tips and tricks, and recommendations through various platforms. I am building a community of individuals who embrace their love and passion. I think what makes me most proud of this brand is that I have built it on being honest and upholding that integrity. I want to be open and honest about real life. The good, the bad, and the ugly with all its glory. I also think that’s what sets me apart from the others. Although we share similar platforms and ideas, as long I continue to be my authentic self I am already becoming my own.
Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
I owe pretty much everything to my family. They have been my biggest cheerleaders, critics, and mentors throughout every process. From the first video I uploaded to all the photos/posts I’ve created, they have been there. My grandmother ran her business for over 30 years. She’s an incredible inspiring woman who worked hard and was dedicated to her business. But as of the past few years, I do owe majority of my success to my fiancé Alex. He’s been there through my rough days filled with self-doubt to staying with me all day in the sun taking photos. He’s been my sounding board, my shoulder to cry on to my biggest supporter. Without them I would not be where I am today.
