Meet Victoria Andrews of Tha Fat Girl Food Chronicles

Today we’d like to introduce you to Victoria Andrews.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Victoria. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
My journey with food started at a very young age outside in my grandmother’s back yard where I was versed in the are if mud pie making. My sister April and I would playfours hours making every type of dirt delicacy our minds could “cook” up. I ended up moving to the east coast right after I finished up season 9 of the biggest loser.

All I can remember was my mother asking me what I was going to do with my life. I remember taking time and really thinking about ht I had loved all theses years, what I would do if there was no money involved and All I could think about was mud pies and cooking for my friends in college. I signed up for culinary school the next day. I went from working the “line” in a restaurant (which I quickly found out was not my calling). To being a private chef to doing micro catering to becoming a blogger.

The fat girl food Chronicles was started after I found myself in different spaces that did not necessarily welcome me, my ecstatic, or my delivery of who I was at times. I wanted to dedicate a space to those of us who find ourselves in the “right” places feeling wrong. The name was created out of an “eff you” of sorts. You would be surprised at how many people don’t want to say the words “ fat girl” in my name because it makes them feel uncomfortable. Lol no say it loud and say it proud!

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
No road traveled especially in life is 100 percent smooth. As it shouldn’t be. I’m currently writing this going through a very trying time in my life. All people want to see is a happy, funny, going out and about version of me. Honestly, that’s how I am for the most part… however no matter how good of a show I put on life is life.

Let’s list some struggles:
Love (Deep sigh)
Money ( need more)
Weight (need less lol)
Consistency (needs more effort givin)
Time(could manage better)

My biggest hurdle had been a lack of focus and being consistent in the areas needed.

Please tell us about Tha Fat Girl Food Chronicles.
As a blogger: I tell people about anything food and beverage related and have a gift for showing the parts that make it look the most fun. I love introducing people to new and cool things as far as food and drink is concerned… I love to travel and expose people to new jewels.

As a Food Stylist/Chef: I phased away from catering a few years back. People still want to experience me in a tangible way so I will cater crafted cocktails for parties and I’m starting food styling/ food shoot classes soon!

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I believe in luck but my foundation is in Christ. Luck is just a residual effect of my fair. I’m no bible thumper. I do cuss(more than I should) drink and am a bit worldly if I’m honest. But Jesus loves me like I am. I just take the lucky moments and try to make the most of them when they come. I all about working smarter not harder lol.
