Meet Chelsia McCoy of Coaching With Chelsia in North

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chelsia McCoy.

Chelsia, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I began this journey when I was a little girl. Ever since I was about two or three, I had a book in my hand and I absolutely loved reading! When I reached my teens, I had started writing short stories and getting ideas from the books I read. When my friends were going shopping for clothes and hanging out, I was trying to get to the bookstore. I wasn’t satisfied with just one book, I had to leave with at least three or an entire series! In high school, I completed my first novel, which I revised during college, then finally completed after relocating from California to Texas in 2004. My first full-length novel, Antithesis, was officially published in 2006. My writing career had begun!

Since 2006, I have continued writing fictional works and non-fiction. In between the writing, I launched Under His Wings Ministry in 2014, with the purpose of empowering, inspiring, and encouraging women worldwide through the Word of God to promote meaningful and life-changing relationships with Christ to gain strength! Through weekly Bible studies and annual conferences, friendships and sisterhoods were birthed that still carry on to this day! From this ministry, I didn’t know it but my coaching practice began.

After the death of my husband in 2016, everything took a standstill. I had to refocus, reshift and find myself all over again. He and I began writing a non-fiction book together, which I finished and published in April 2019, titled: Hand on the Closet: Hope & Healing in Relationships. This book is what catapulted and birthed Coaching With Chelsia. The purpose of the coaching is giving people the tools to talk in each of their relationships: personal and professional. Coaching With Chelsia also provides book coaching services to help those who are interested in book writing — from start to finish!

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
No, the road has not been completely smooth. There were some pretty traumatic and life-changing events that shook me to my core but have been necessary for the shaping and molding of who I am now and who I am becoming. I relocated from my hometown in Southern CA to Houston, TX in 2004 with my two children, which was an experience in itself.

The death of my father in 2012, my mother moved and relocated back to CA in 2013, then the death of my husband in 2016 were all situations that hit hard but they forced me to stay grounded and rooted in the Word of God and maintain my personal relationship with Christ. I had an amazing support team — my prayer team, The Think Tank (T3), and my sister-friends, who prayed me through and reminded me that I wasn’t alone. Those things that distract us… knock us down… get us off track… they are designed to cause us to abort our missions. But with support from loved ones and inner determination, I have decided to press forward!

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Coaching With Chelsia – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of and what sets you apart from others.
Coaching With Chelsia is dual: provides tools for effective communication within personal and professional relationships; and provides book coaching for those interested in writing a book from start to finish. I specialize in giving people the Tools for Talking! It was brought to my attention by many that there are times when you want to say something, but you are not sure “how” to say it, “who” to say it to, or “when” to say anything at all. This can be within the workplace or within personal relationships with friends, family, etc. Communication and knowing HOW to effectively communicate is my passion! I believe it is in my DNA! My book: Hand On the Closet deals with this subject within marriage/relationships. I have a book coming out soon, “Say It Right,” which will cover effective communication in the workplace.

I am most proud of this company because it provides opportunities for people to not only fulfill dreams of writing a book and becoming published authors, but they are learning new skills and propelling themselves into new chapters of their lives. Being able to provide the tools to help people communicate effectively in their relationships will open so many doors for them in many facets of their lives which will help them to live their lives more full and complete.

What sets me apart from others is that I walk every step of the way with my clients with patience, understanding and compassion. I provide a level of premium support and guidance that others do not. There are publishers, coaches and companies the world over that can help someone write a book or guide them through situations. But they do not provide these services, they charge outrageous fees, and they are not available when clients need them. I have experienced this myself and I am committed to being sure I go above and beyond for my clients so they are assured they are top priority. When clients complete sessions with me, not only have their questions and concerns been resolved, but they are ready to excel and move forward with their destinies!

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I see Coaching With Chelsia growing and reaching the masses. I am looking forward to speaking engagements on many platforms and connecting with people from all walks of life who are seeking to enhance their relationships from a different perspective. I am also planning on being able to have offices in multiple cities across the nation to be able to reach more with ease. My primary goal is to help others achieve personal growth and development within their communication and interaction in their relationships.
