Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexis Lozano.
Alexis, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I was introduced to fashion at a very young age. I saw my dad as a role model, my dad was always into fashion always wearing designer clothes and keeping up with the latest trends. At the age of 5, I did my first casting for the Disney channel and was one of the few chosen to do the commercial for them. At age ten, I had a modeling job for Guess kids and my passion for modeling grew stronger as I got older. My dad always tried to keep me engaged with many activities and in 2010, I was a cheerleader for the Magnolia Park Sharks. Recently, I was invited for a casting call for Preview Models and was the first one chosen out of Houston. I was also invited to attend a fashion runway show in Los Angeles, California to participate in the runway show during musician Trey Songz concert. I also had the privilege to be invited to attend modeling classes through two great local modeling agencies (Page Parks & John Casablancas).
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I have had my share of speed bumps through my career. The main obstacle has been my height; being only 5’3, I have been told many times I am too short and that is not what they are looking for but I never allowed that to stop. I have always continued my journey with my head held high.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Jay Hernandez Lozano Management Group – what should we know?
My dad and I started this up and coming talent management company in 2017. My dad specializes in doing the public relations management for local and upcoming talent such as myself in my modeling career and is also currently managing my personal makeup artist Beauty By Ceci.
Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
I have to mention a few of the many mentors and supporters I have had in my life so far. My dad-Jay Hernandez Lozano, my grandma- Maria Hernandez, my uncle Tony Mandujano, my cousin-Julissa Soliz, my godmother Cecilia Valdez, and my cheer sisters from the Magnolia Park Sharks. The people mentioned above have impacted my life in a positive way and I am very grateful to have them in my life.
