Meet Mairim Vilano of Houston Realtor in Inner Loop

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mairim Vilano.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Mairim. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I began my career in real estate in 2014, working with a very well known Real estate hedge fund company by helping them manage and acquire 3,000 residential homes in the Houston Area. I have helped over 1000 families purchase, rent, or sell their properties here in Texas. After this, I was granted an opportunity to obtain my Loan Officer license with a reverse mortgage company that I worked with for over five years while transitioning into their servicing escrow department. This helped me combine both my experiences and made me the seasoned real estate professional I am today, this helped me recognize and value the trust my clients place in me and I strive every day to exceed their expectations. Currently, I am working with North American Title in Business Development as I position to become Escrow officer to better by providing bilingual closings.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Overcoming challenges makes life meaningful, and If it was not for the challenges we face, we would not value the meaning of success. I personally have my own challenges of being a single mother, this taught me you have to learn to time manage your schedule and prioritize yourself.

Another challenge many realtors face is finding the right team. I was lucky my mother has been in the industry and was my helping hand to get my foot into the door since then I have been blessed to become a part of the Nan & Co team!

Houston Realtor – what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
As a Realtor, my first priority is to make my clients happy. I listen to my client’s wants and needs to achieve the best outcome in every transaction and I strive to ensure that the home buying or selling process is fun, easy and stress-free. My clients can count on me any time of day when they have a question or concern. My intimate knowledge of this region, and my experiences of having lived here all of my life give me enthusiasm and a desire to make my home, your home.

What helps set me more apart is my knowledge of the mortgage industry, therefore, I am able to explain more about what the lender is asking them and how to shop for the best interest rate. As for my investor clients, my knowledge working with hedge funds, and hard money lenders set me apart to find different avenues to generate the best return for their investments.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
I would have to say my proudest moment was selling a house to my little sister. Our parents migrated here from Cuba in ’95 and worked very hard to give us the life we had, the beautiful vacations we went on, the huge extravagant quinceaneras and the home we grew up in. Therefore being able to help guide my sister through this process made me proud to have gone over all these milestones set before our generation and exceed them as young homeowners.
