Today we’d like to introduce you to Maisaa Zaza.
So, before we jump into specific questions about what you do, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I graduated as a hospital management and midwife back home (Syria)! When I came to the USA, I volunteered in a resettlement agency! And that was the first time I met with the refugees from all around the world! Then, I started a full-time job with the same agency! I love my job! I heard so many stories from the refugees and I decided to do my best to help them in their new life here! The first year, I got an award (the best employee of the year) and another award from PAAC for helping the refugees! and one form ACC! I love what I’m doing! Helping our new neighbor to start their new life, with all the challenges (language barrier, culture…) is making me feel not just happy but thankful for the opportunity to be with them step by step until they become self-sufficient! With a great team who has the same passion to help the refugees, we established our new non- profit THE FUTRE BEYOND CHARITY! Our mission is to offer the refugees and immigrant educational and development services to empower them to take their future into their hands and escape the cycle of poverty and despair! Now, after more than one year, we had helped more than 40 families and we are looking to help more!
Leaving my country was not easy! I left my family friends, our hospital, home, I was so sad until I started my job, make someone else happy is priceless! I never thought after I left my country I will be happy again!I’m not just happy I feel love for everyone in the world!
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It was not easy at all! to re-start your life in a new country, culture, language is not easy! But it’s not impossible with your hard work and volition! My advice is to think before you start, and ask your self those questions:
What do you like to do in your life? what kind of job you will love to do with passion? What do you need to start your career? Also, I learned that your heart, your life, your happiness is your responsibility and your responsibility alone!
As long as we are pointing the finger and stuck whose fault something is, we’re jammed and trapped to the “victim mode’ when you’re in victim mode, you’re stuck in suffering… the road to power is in taking responsibility.
What do you do, what do you specialize in, what are you known for, etc. What are you most proud of? What sets you apart from others?
I’m the CEO and the founder of the future beyond charity! A non-profit organization! We offer newcomers educational services to help them take their responsibility for their future and escape the bonds of poverty and hopelessness! We provide academic and language education and life skills training in a caring environment that will empower them to successfully move into the mainstream of society! We are very proud to announce that since we started our organization (09/2019), we helped 40 families who were struggling to pay their rent, and we found job for them, we gave 5 cars for 5 families to help them go to their work! And so many families with the food, clothes furniture and blanket! And more! Working to help the needy people, it’s our passion! We work very hard with the families and we are there for them when they are struggling in their new life doing our best to help them, make it to the time they become self-sufficient.
Do you recommend any apps, books or podcasts that have been helpful to you?
I had an amazing excitive coach Hind Farrag (916-943-5873) and I highly recommend her if you want to start a new business! She helped me a lot with the strategic plan and leadership training!
