Meet Roberto Wright of Reverseetah Clothing in Harris County

Today we’d like to introduce you to Roberto Wright.

Roberto, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
The ideas and motivation behind the brand started with all the hate and hateful acts that we have been and still are experiencing. The school shootings, police shooting unarmed citizens, shootings in churches, mosques, and synagogues. Along with our President, with his shenanigans. It’s heartbreaking. I was experiencing many sleepless nights just thinking what can I do to help.

I’ve always loved clothes and dressing nice since I was young. I get it from my mother and father. They are known for dressing nice. I got tired of wearing other people’s clothes. I always thought about what if I created my own line. But I didn’t want to be like other brands or just have my clothes specifically made for a certain type or class of people. I want my brand to be global and inclusive of all people from all walks of life. Boom. Now you have Reverseetah, which is actually an acronym for Reverse Everything About Hate. Get it.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I think anybody will tell you when first starting a business, nothing is smooth. I mean when you have a vision, it’s your vision and everyone might not see what you see. I will say this, it’s been very challenging but I know in the end when the brand is globally recognized and the message of REVERSE EVERYTHING ABOUT HATE is spread and we bring awareness and solutions to our children it’s well worth whatever challenges faced. The kids are our future. So it’s all about teaching them right and that we are all the same. (Human Beings).

Please tell us about Reverseetah Clothing.
We are an upstart and up and coming brand with style but also with a powerful message behind the brand. Our mission is to reverse everything about hate. Our vision at Reverseetah is more than just clothes its a global movement. We are a brand with a powerful message. Unlike other brands, when you wear reverseetah, you are standing up for and against issues like bullying, terrorism, racism, gender, age, and weight discrimination, sexual orientation, LGBTQ, politics, and self -hate. The reverse of hate is LOVE! Love is the cure for all hate. We want to be known for spreading love and making a difference in the world while putting out good quality clothing. It’s not about the clothes though, the clothes are just extra. We need to teach and instill love in our children and not teach hate. Hate leads to so many negative things so as adults, we have to do better. Whatever a child is exposed to or learns from a negative aspect can be unlearned and shown a better way. I feel all of the above mentioned separates us from other clothing brands. As the creator and owner, I am most proud of the love and support so far from our people who see the vision and are on board and ready to take the brand to the world. I’m most proud that God has allowed me to create a brand that is going to make a difference.

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
My favorite memory from childhood is just being around my mother Maria Celia Torres-Wright. I loved just watching her. Mommy worked so hard and always put myself, two brothers and father ahead of herself and treated us like Kings. My mother was so beautiful and kind. I love her so much. She is the main inspiration behind all I’m doing. I miss her. She passed in 2002 from Lupus. Bless her soul.
