Today we’d like to introduce you to Megan Daley.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Megan. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I gained interest in photography while in high school after taking a photography course. It had always stayed with me, but it wasn’t until my son was born that a true passion to capture and freeze life’s moments became more relevant. I had my “nice” camera sitting around but never felt like I was able to capture the moments the way I wanted to remember them and only had experienced editing in a black room or on my phone. I began self-teaching, searching, learning and soaking up as much information as I could! I loved my new hobby because it gave me something for myself to continue to learn and grow (outside of my profession of teaching), our family, and eventually friends. It wasn’t until a good friend of mine encouraged me to step outside of my comfort zone to begin taking pictures of other families and friends that I ever thought to myself that I could make my hobby into possibly something more!
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Photography so far has all been about the challenges-but that is where the learning happens! Photography isn’t just about taking a photograph, but it’s about capturing the emotion and real moments. The biggest challenge for me personally on this journey has been finding a balance to work a full-time job teaching, be the best mommy I can do our two years old son, and also continue to learn and grow with a hobby and passion on the side. Finding time is not always easy, and I always have to remind myself that it will always be a work in progress. One of my absolute favorite thing to photograph is other mommies with their children. Wherever we are in our journey, we all love so deeply, we sometimes forget about ourselves.

Megan Daley Photography specializes in natural light-lifestyle photography. I love to shoot outdoors in natural light! My passion is capturing the magic of childhood! I also love photographing families and couples, nature, and more recently events! I am currently just beginning this journey and am so proud of the progress in my photography images and editing in just a year. I think the biggest thing that sets me apart from others is that I love getting to know my clients on a more personal level and take my time with them. I want people to look back and not only love their photos, but also the experience and personal connection!
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I have no idea what the future holds, but I like it that way! My plan is to keep growing and learning as much as I can to continue to improve my photography skill set! I am thankful for my friends and family who continue to encourage me on this journey and I hope to continue to be able to provide lifetime memories for people!
