Today we’d like to introduce you to Meagan Jones.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I’ve also loved to craft and make different items for myself, family, and friends. I started making shirts and decor for my family and home and began to have requests from friends to purchase items that I have made.
I slowly started posting what I was making on Facebook and Instagram and quickly began to attract new people in Pearland. From there, I had many repeat customers requesting shirts and gifts for their kids, baby showers, gender reveals, birthday gifts, etc.
Being involved with my church (FUMC Pearland), MOPs, Pearland Little League, Dance (Stephanie’s School of Dance), and other community activities, I found that people were requesting items all the time.
With the help of my husband, we found different resources for affordable materials such as shirt blanks to help provide items for my new customers at a reasonable price.
Most of my customers today are repeat customers or friends of existing customers.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
There were a few items that I tried to make and sell that ended up costing money or which had a low demand. I quickly found my niche with shirts, earrings, decals, and unique simple gifts.
Your Boutique Shop – what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
A majority of my business is custom shirts, leather earrings, and unique gifts. I believe my quick responses and competitive pricing, and quick turnaround keep my customers coming back often.
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success for me is doing things that make myself and others happy. Seeing pictures of my customers happily displaying items, I make really brightens my day and reminds me why I love doing what I do- even when I get extremely busy and sometimes overwhelmed.
