Today we’d like to introduce you to Rondrick Jenkins.
Rondrick, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I started my real estate career in New Home Sales w/ Brighton Homes (now KHovnanian Homes). I have a natural passion for assisting others in achieving their goals/dreams and treating others how I expect to be treated. Also, it helped that I was addicted to viewing model homes. I sold new construction for nearly three years and decided that I wanted to pursue my real estate license and practice real estate selling on my own, as an independent agent. That was in 2009, and here I am, ten years and hundreds of transactions later, blessed to be doing something that I love in selling homes and helping others.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Naturally, any all-commission positions pose a challenge, especially while raising a family. Quite frankly, there have been, and probably always will be times where transactions are difficult to come by for weeks and months, but the bills and providing for a family of four is around the clock. Over my ten years, there have been occasions, early-on in which I had to work a second job to have some consistent income. Selling real estate is just as challenging as it is rewarding, so I think it’s fair to say that it takes self-drive, sound budgeting, and relentless marketing to have any sort of longevity.
We’d love to hear more about your business.

What were you like growing up?
Growing up in Fort Bend (Sugar Land & Missouri City), I was shy but a genuinely nice kid that got along with many people. I loved sports and played football, basketball and baseball from little league through high school. I was a leader at my High School.
