Meet Stephanie Clark of Atascocita Photography in Humble

Today we’d like to introduce you to Stephanie Clark.

Stephanie, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I photographed my first high school senior in 2004, just for fun. I went to the University of Houston where I majored in industrial design. After school, I worked as a designer, mostly in the fashion and leather accessories field for companies like Fossil in Dallas and Elaine Turner here in Houston.

As a creative outlet outside of my day job, I picked up my camera again. What started out as a passion project grew into Atascocita Photography. I now get to photograph people full time at some of the most important phases of their life. It is my honor to document and make this memory for their family and it is a lot of fun!

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
As a photographer, there is always a new technique or process to learn. This is just part of the journey. Being an entrepreneur is great because it gives you the freedom to grow and try things at your own pace as fast as you want.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Atascocita Photography story. Tell us more about the business.
At Atascocita Photography, I provide a full-service experience, from designing your session through creating albums and wall art. Our sessions include newborns, families young and old, high school seniors and weddings. I’m most proud when I share the images with my families and I see the smiles on their faces, I live for that moment.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
It isn’t about luck, it is about hard work and creativity.
