Meet Amber Neal of Marridate

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amber Neal.

Amber, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
My journey began with my Mother being orphaned alongside her brother. Put in a faith home and passed around from foster parent to abusive foster parent. She was finally adopted when she was 13 and her brother was 14.

So much of who I am today and my mission on my life is because what I learned from them being such an influence on my life… RIP John & Norene Phinny. My grandparents were missionaries and help found their church Bauman Road Missionary Baptist. They were married until the day that my grandfather gained his wings the year before I was born. They were married about 40 years and was the only example of healthy love I ever saw being that my parents were married and divorced three times each. The beauty with wisdom is that it comes from experience and time. Now I can look back at biological grandparents and see the generational curse they passed down to my mother. She only knows what examples she had or didn’t in this case. My grandmother picked a man who dealt with alcohol addiction and it destroyed the family.

They say those that can’t do it for themselves teach. My mother is the 1st Generation Matchmaker in my family. She matched and married all her friends to their husbands and they stayed together. It is a gift that we have being Empaths. We all have a gift of discernment, but this feels like discernment on steroids. Energy is so powerful!

About 15 years ago, I left Corporate America making a great salary and decided that I wanted to be a Matchmaker like my mom. I had no experience, so I answered an ad as a Telemarketer for a very large well known Matchmaking Firm making $9/hour plus 7% commission on anything that sold that I set. After two months, I was promoted to Director of Marketing. Within a few months, they had me interviewing potential clients and started training as a Matchmaker on how to give people what they wanted, which felt like I already “knew” with my gift of being able to “read them” and feel their energy.

I left there and worked with Events & Adventures since 2007 on and off as their International Director, handling half of their locations. During that time, I became a Professional Comedian, Certified TV Producer, Radio Personality/Producer, Author, Columnist, launched a PR Firm to secure my brand as Houston’s Millionaire Matchmaker. I had no money when I decided to go out on own; therefore, I had to be super creative on getting my name out there so I created “The Amber Neal Show” as seen on The KUBE 57 and Comcast Cable to millions in the Houston area.

All of that led me to this next step. What I was born to do. Launch the 1st Private Social Club for Couples with ONE goal in mind and that is to cure the divorce rate!

We have our launch on 2/29/2019 in Houston!! The grand opening! Mark the date!

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
No, it wasn’t a smooth road. It got so hard, I’m pretty sure I walked on rocks, through mud, and through the fire. I am sure one day, I will be happy that it happened exactly that way. I learned the hard way. A lot of this journey is about your personal healing and spiritual journey too. As I have become closer with God’s desires for my life and removed distractions and toxic or fake people out of my life, things are starting to fly – forget walking!

Marridate – what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I am the only Professional Matchmaker that is also a comedian and I’m sure everything else I do too lol but I am proud that everything that my grandmother taught me is the reason that I am on this mission to cure the divorce rate and fight for the family. Social media, music and TV programming teaches us to treat divorce like an option and acts like it is perfectly normal to divorce multiple times. Is this the new norm? The younger generation doesn’t really even believe in marriage so we have to try to fix this now or marriage will one day be a thing of the past. I am doing this for the kids. I don’t want kids to have to go through and survive their childhood. I want them to have a real chance to grow up and be happy, healthy adults that attract the same.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Helping people find love or follow their dreams and passion. I love helping people find whatever it is that makes their heart skip a beat.
