Meet Arizchelle Fababaer of Kumon of Richmond Pecan Grove

Today we’d like to introduce you to Arizchelle Fababaer.

Arizchelle Fababaer impacted the lives of youth as an elementary school teacher for three years before taking a break to raise a family. Now, she’s continuing that passion for education and entering the world of small business ownership by opening the Kumon of Richmond Pecan Grove.

Arizchelle (or Rachel as most people know her) isn’t new to Kumon. She worked as an assistant in a Kumon Center for seven years before she went on to earn a degree in education from the University of Houston and launched a career as a school teacher.

“Kumon has always been a huge part of my life,” said Arizchelle, owner and instructor of the Kumon Math and Reading Center of Richmond Pecan Grove. “Even as an elementary school educator, I always found myself referring back to Kumon. I see the strong potential in the individualized learning program and how it helps kids develop a passion for learning.”

The Kumon Method empowers preschool to high school-aged children to become self-learners and is designed to advance math and reading skills while fostering a love for learning. It goes beyond traditional tutoring by actively developing critical thinking skills as children progress independently through a carefully crafted curriculum.

“Working at Kumon never felt like a job to me, so when I decided to return to work after starting a family, it only made sense to open the Kumon Math and Reading Center of Richmond Pecan Grove as my own,” said Arizchelle. “I look forward to sharing my passion for not only education but also the Kumon Method with the families in my community. I know that together, we can help students develop an eagerness to learn.”

Arizchelle is fully committed to helping children in Richmond and surrounding communities excel in Math and Reading, and succeed in their overall academics.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
There has been a lot of bumps on the way but it was all worth it. I learned a lot by making mistakes and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Kumon of Richmond Pecan Grove – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Welcome to the Kumon Math & Reading Center of Richmond Pecan Grove. We are located on the southeast corner of Plantation Drive and FM 359 Rd / Mason Rd, across from Pecan Grove Country Club. We are in the shopping plaza adjacent to Randalls on FM 359 Rd / Mason Rd, in the same shopping center as Domino’s, Fantastic Sams and Bombay Grill.

Kumon is a worksheet-based program. Kumon worksheets are the heart of the program. Students study Kumon worksheets in math, reading, or both math and reading daily. Students come to the center twice weekly on a schedule of their choosing (typically Mondays and Thursdays or Tuesdays and Fridays) and complete short daily assignments the other five days of the week at home.

Students progress through the Kumon curriculum at their own pace with the goal of studying advanced materials. Our emphasis on individualized learning helps your child become focused, motivated and self-reliant. We monitor each child’s progress to ensure comprehension before moving on to a new concept. With a strong academic foundation, critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, your child has the potential to achieve whatever he or she desires.

Since 2018, the Kumon Math and Reading Center of Richmond Pecan Grove has been serving the parents and students in the Richmond Pecan Grove area and surrounding communities, helping students excel in their academics. We are continually honored and proud to be a part of and serving the vibrant communities of Pecan Grove, Harvest Green, Long Meadow Farms, Plantation Meadows, Rio Vista, River’s Edge, Shadow Grove Estates and Grand River. We also strive to foster productive partnerships with our area schools such as Pecan Grove Elementary, James C. Neill Elementary, Frost Elementary and Stephen F. Austin Elementary in order to ensure that students receive the best possible academic enrichment and supplemental help available.

For more than 60 years, Kumon’s after-school academic enrichment program has helped children achieve success worldwide. We strive to instill in children the desire to achieve and the motivation to learn on their own. Whether your child is seeking enrichment, needs help catching up or is just beginning his or her academic career, our math and reading programs are designed to help your child develop a love of learning.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
We would love to continue our growth trajectory and are super excited to share our knowledge and experience with everyone in Richmond and Pecan Grove who has a love for and interest in Math and Reading.
