

Today we’d like to introduce you to Yvonne Moore.
Yvonne, please kick things off for us by telling us about yourself and your journey so far.
Born in Los Angeles, CA and raised halfway in Tulsa, OK and half in Texas. Attended middle school in Houston, high school at Cedar Hill High school (Dallas county) but ended up graduating from high school in Tulsa, OK from Tulsa Central High. I have always had a creative spirit with a background in musical theatre, choir, and sports while always holding a spot in the upper-level art classes in school. I just love to create things or modify them to make them prettier or better. I am a wife of three years; it will be four years Aug. 9, 2019. I have three children, two years old boy, eight years old girl, and 12 years old girl. I have been officially running my event planning company for three years. I not only do weddings, parties, and conferences, I also do corporate events, festivals, networking events, and concerts. I also travel for events.
Event planning has always been a passion of mine ever since high school. I always wanted to have the biggest & best party, yet for my 16th birthday, I had the biggest embarrassing party. When I was in high school, kids would make flyers to hand out for parties and they would have tons of food and a DJ. So that’s what I wanted, I called around and collecting all of the event information I needed because I knew that my mom was the type that if you want to do something you better bring all of the details when you ask her. So that’s what I did. Although my efforts failed because she still denied me the party I wanted and instead she printed out small photo paper invitations that were light blue with colorful balloons all over them. So my big 16th birthday bash turned into a small invite only get together! Word got around school and kids just laughed at me or maybe the thought of my failed party attempt. Ever since then, I have had a passion to produce THE BEST EVENTS for my clients because I believe that everyone deserves to have the party of their dreams!
Alright – so let’s talk business. What else should we know about you and your career so far?
My company is called Yvonne Moore Events we also go by YM Events.
How do I go about being an event planner, in line all of my ducks up in a row so to speak, there is a process to each event in the planning stages. I plan events because I have a passion for helping people create memories. I am inspired by unique out of the box event trends and ideas. The message I want to convey through my event planning is that anything can be a celebration. What I hope people take away from my events are lifelong memories.
What you should know:
I curate public events such at Networking Under The Stars: A night of Connections (where we had vendors, food, and liver performances), Networking under the stars is an event series, so there will be multiple events each year!
Any advice for aspiring or new artists?
Talk to people who are in your specific industry exactly and inquire of how exactly you should get started. Find a mentor and allow them to fast track you to success. I wish I would have had someone to guide me in my specific niche. I also wish I would have hit the ground running harder when I started. I would also say once you built up momentum try not to lose it by procrastinating and wasting time.
