Meet Thread Atlas

Today we’d like to introduce you to Thread Atlas.

Thread Atlas came to life in 2007 in the company of a unique collective of close friends sharing their love of music. After countless hours of writing, recording, improvisation, experimentation and many years of performing (together and individually) on stages across Texas, the band is excited to bring their own blend of progressive rock, psychedelia, R&B, and electronica to audiences once again.

Can you give our readers some background on your music?
Thread Atlas creates art that is an amalgamation of each member’s continuous drive to learn more styles of music, explore different instruments and form a unique collective voice that pushes boundaries for ourselves and listeners everywhere. Drawing from our collective experiences in concert bands, marching bands, choirs (church & school), orchestras, jazz bands and various professional gigs, they aim to bring something different from all of these influences into each song. From songs about love, loss, and self-discovery to psychedelia, driving hard rock and soaring instrumentals, our music is unafraid and covers a large amount of musical ground and lyrical subject matter. The drive to create and love of playing instruments, singing and baring our souls through song is what drives us to spend our lives slaving over the next chord change, melody or lyric. Listeners should know that we pour every ounce of ourselves into meticulously crafting our sound and live shows in hopes that you can truly vibe with our music. Whether you nod to the beat, laugh, smile, cry, sing along or head-bang violently, we want you to feel alive for awhile.

What do you think is the biggest challenge facing artists today?
The biggest challenge facing artists today is three-fold: standing out with advertising in extremely saturated social media markets whilst still making money to survive on and all the while finding enough time to hone their craft and maintain artistic integrity.
