Today we’d like to introduce you to Keyera Byers and Keyonsha Fleming.
Keyera and Keyonsha, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Being an entrepreneur was not our plan nor was it on our mind. But in 2017, our mother found this idea and believed that my sister and I could do it! We took her advice and we made our treats for the first time for our cousin’s baby shower. Everyone was amazed that we made the treats and how good they were.
We started doing our own research on finding the best products to use and taught our selfs what we needed to know to do and be the best we can be. We began taking a few orders here and there and our customers were always pleased. That motivated us to make this into our own business!
Has it been a smooth road?
No, It is not always easy but we always have faith in God and we always find a way to get things done. Since we are both college students, our classwork sometimes get in the way. It can be difficult balancing school and owning your own business. A lot of days we don’t get any sleep. We stay up all night long until our orders are complete. It can be draining at times but we motivate each other to keep going. When our customers receive their treats, the smile on their faces makes all the sleepless nights all worth it.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the K’z Treatz story. Tell us more about the business.
We make treats for special occasions such as birthday parties, weddings, baby showers, etc. We are known for our delicious treats and our magnificent work. What sets us apart from others is our great customer service. Our customers would send us some ideas on how they want their creations to be and we overachieve their expectations. We always work on how to improve our services. We are most proud of how much we grown and how much we learned over the past two years. We taught ourselves all that we know and we are amazed by the work we do. Our business has grown tremendously and we are so thankful and grateful for everyone who supports us and believes in us. We love what we do and we thank God for guiding us in the right direction.
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
Within the next five to ten years, I see he being very successful. I see us owning our own shop. I also see us teaching others how to start their own treat business.
