Today we’d like to introduce you to Diana Cazaubon Brown.
Diana, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I first got my start as a little girl. I was passionate about hair at eight years old. I can remember doing my dolls hair and talking to them like they were actual clients. I come from large family and I was able to get my practice out on my sister’s. I then went to Lee College after High School located in Baytown, Texas.
I then persuade my journey in getting a license in Cosmetology. I didn’t know where it would take me once I was done but, it has allowed me to bless those that are forgotten in many different communities such as nursing homes, (sex trafficking) abused women children and single-parent homes. I love what I was created to do but, I have to say a very special mentor once said to me “it’s not what you do it’s the thing you do that changes and touches lives”. I then realized how deep beauty runs and that my friends starts from the inside out. I have been featured on talk show based out of New York for caring for women and girls who suffer from alopecia and cancer fighters. I create wigs and custom design wigs that will allow them to feel a little better about themselves. I have had the honor to serve celebrities. I did say I didn’t know where this gift would take me but it is taking me on a wonderful journey. Just to name one celebrity, we are familiar with Martha Stewart was able to get treated by the Elite Hair Doctor. I say this with the most humble heart it was such an honor to serve her and every star that sits in my chair. I consider all my clients Elite. This is where the name comes from Elite Hair Doctor. My clients are Elite and I do Hair and I work on the outside of the anatomy and doctor the hair up. That name was given to by a special person but the definition was given to me by God. I am so thankful for my gift to be able to serve in such a tremendous way throughout the community.
Has it been a smooth road?
My road is still challenging but, I love challenges it helps me grow. I struggled with doing hair all my life. Only because what people think about our industry. However, I do know I am a game changer so I take opinions and crush them with results! I battled with the up and down rollercoaster of this industry, but you have to stand strong and wither through the stormy days. Some days and weeks and months are great when some days are dark and gloomy. I faced like many in my industry the pain of serving the community and being taken advantage of. I have been tested in so many ways with my marriage because of this field that chooses me. I love what I do but when it’s not bringing in the finances then what do you do? I had to hold on to both knowing that it will work out. Finally, this year I am breaking free I decide to do something different! Like many in my industry that has a family. My family life suffered owning and working for other businesses. It’s a rock in a hard place when your heart loves both. I suffered with depression while bringing and brighten other’s life because I know what it feels like so, I was able to brighten and coach them through the storm while facing my own. Through doing hair God used my platform in a miraculous way. I found myself through God his Elite people and doing hair because I stuck with it and, I met so many people that has changed my life as well. I am meeting people every day and I see the brighter side of my gift. The struggles was real but so am I.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Elite Hair Doctor story. Tell us more about the business.
My business is a full salon service catering to hair services. I treat hair loss I am a certified trichologist. I am known for Doctoring the hair up I specialize in all things hair. I believe my teaching and bringing awareness to your “hair” and how to care for it beyond the chair when serving “The Elite’s”is what sets me apart. All hair needs is a little “TLC”! I am proud of going out into the community and, giving my gift back to many in need of the ELITE Hair Doctor.
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
I see my business growing into a educational institution looking forward to train the next Elite hair Doctors of the future and now is the future ! I see visionary creative beings changing lives through hair and creating new products and, inventing new things for this hair industry. I want people to know and believe we are not just hair stylist it’s more to us then just hair ! It’s the thing we do to others that changes lives daily!
