Today we’d like to introduce you to Brenda B. Simmons.
Brenda, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I was born in the gospel genre of music as I grew up in the upper Glenwood Forest area we formed a rap group Northside rappers whereas we performed for charity event such as veterans and nursing home. As I grew older, we continued to help others and it would become my life helping others through music.
Has it been a smooth road?
All of my company struggles we difficult we first started looking for an investor which was no problem we found our 1st one with no problem. We hosted our 1st annual concert at the Humble Civic center which was a total fail. Thank God our investor understood that we did not make anything at all and was completely out of funds to pay for the money borrowed but over time we paid money borrowed in full. Never again borrow without a sure way of paying back your lender.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Sugarbabee Mgmt and Production story. Tell us more about the business.
Sugarbabee Mgmt/melodyofhope is a company that assist those in need through our music and helps build funds for those in need by sells of music for charity or small sells to help children of domestic violence by receiving donated music from known artist who silently donate music to the charity. We collect school supplies and school clothes for needy Children and children of domestic violence.
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
Our mission is to continue to produce music that will help those who are in need of safety and help of domestic violence we have partnered with several organizations that are donating their time to needed family’s to assist in our concert for 2020s album of hope to assist HOUSTON CHILDREN of domestic violence. We are working with the media to assist family’s for the next five years. Those family’s who sign up will be eligible for assistance for the 2020 throughout 2022. Christmas and school year.
