Meet Paisley Fernandez of Waizley’s Closet

Today we’d like to introduce you to Paisley Fernandez.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Paisley. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I have always been an entrepreneur, as well as had a passion for fashion since I was a very young girl. I started my first clothing and accessories company my junior year of high school with my best friend, and ever since then I knew that owning a company in the fashion industry was right up my ally. I have had the idea of Waizley’s Closet since I was 15, and I have done many reworked thrifting projects since then, but on a random night in October, I decided it was time to actually launch the company and put an online shop together, which is something. I have never done before. With the help of my dear friend Natalie, I was able to create the website and social media pages, as well as have our first pop up shop at a concert (The First Harvest) on November 15th.

Has it been a smooth road?
It has not always been a smooth road. I think the biggest struggle of being an entrepreneur at such a young age, and while in college is having to self-fund nearly all of my projects. Another struggle is having to balance going to an honors school for business, and being able dedicate my attention to it and reap the benefits that are going to advance my career in school, while also having to schedule and manage not only my company outside of it, but also social life and the other jobs that I work.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Waizley’s Closet – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of and what sets you apart from others.
My company Waizley’s Closet is a primarily online shop that specializes in unique and good condition thrift finds. Currently, I specialize in clothes that match my personal style more, which includes vintage, streetwear, athletic wear, and the Y2k trend. We also have started offering men’s clothing within the past week, that follow the same trend styles. As a company, I am most proud of the positive feedback that has been received ever since the company has started, as well as the interest it has gained in the month that it has been running. What sets Waizley’s Closet apart is that the prices are still realistic and cheaper than most upscale vintage shops that you will see in town or online, but the quality is not compromised because of this.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I love the passion that Houstonians have for art and any creative work. There are also so many festivals, pop-ups, and events that are great for networking with those similar or different to you! The least thing I like about Houston is most definitely all of the construction and traffic that it causes, but hopefully the end products are worth it.
