Meet Tricia Crouch

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tricia Crouch.

Tricia, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
My story begins from over 25 years ago when I first laid eyes on an Angel pin created from various types of metal pieces. I did my homework and found the source to purchase the various pieces, made several beautiful little Angel pins, the creativity just flowed, as time went, I started adding more personal touches like birthstones, etc. It was when my dad passed that I created the “Memorial Angel”. Things grew from there, the little shoppe that I sold on consignment with, asked me if I was interested in purchasing the shoppe, my heart skipped 10,000 beats at the opportunity! (I honestly feel this was God, Dad & Angel Blessed)

So here I was, in the sweetest and coolest shoppe, downtown on the square in Wharton, Texas for about 15 years! Here I experienced, life as an entrepreneur, businesswoman and a member and director with the Wharton Chamber of Commerce. However, more opportunity came along, I was ready to travel some, sold my store-front business, moved to Alvin with my wonderful husband and we purchased a 1967 Vintage Shasta Trailer! Did little trade shows here and there, and I discovered I had a Love for Vintage!! I took my “traditional” Angel Pins and started creating them with Vintage jewelry, (again this because of my dad,) mom had jewelry he had given her over the years and I made my first Vintage Angel, it only grew from there, Along the way, I also had an eye for embroidery! (I know, far from Angel pins) but two years ago my husband asked what I would like for Christmas……I told him I had been doing some thinking, and if I had an embroidery machine, I could incorporate it into my existing business.

Well, Tricia Crouch Designs officially began to take off! I Loved the fact that I could make unique and personalized gifts for people (wedding, births, and much more) I then took it one more step….started up-cycling clothing and discovered that I could take something someone no longer wanted and make it into something beautiful. My Up-cycled Clothing line was born “Re-Claimed & Re-Loved by Tricia Crouch Designs. I love the fact that I could take my new found love of embroidery and sewing and marry it with my love for Vintage!!!

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
My journey was not always smooth sailing, as with any business, and life in general there are struggles. With struggles bring, more determination, more grit, more gratitude, lessons and experience. However, this particular year I would say, has been my most difficult. I lost my only brother Aug 23, 2019 and my oldest son just two short months later Oct 23, 2019. This loss is tremendous, and I’m sure I’ll grieve forever, but, these 2 guys are also my inspiration and my sewing, designing and creativity has been taken to a whole new level, With every new idea, I can still feel them both cheering me on and still giving me their biased opinions. The challenge of grieving and still conducting my business has now turned to being my soul-therapy. I know they are proud of me.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Tricia Crouch Designs story. Tell us more about the business.
Tricia Crouch Designs is unique and one of a kind! All of my things are hand-made and designed by me. With the birth of my own Up-cycled Clothing line, “Re-Claimed & Re-Loved, I feel like I am finally making my own brand and I ready to take it to new levels!

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
No luck here……Everything concerning myself and my business is because I am Blessed!! Prayer, hard work and the Grace of God has me where I am today. I firmly believe that.
