Meet Eden Misgina of Misgina Insurance Group in Greater Southwest

Today we’d like to introduce you to Eden Misgina.

Thanks for sharing your story with us, Eden. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
My parents fled Eritrea in the mid-1980s to escape a war torn nation and in hopes of finding better, safer opportunities for their four small children. Fortunately, that decision proved to be fruitful as I was able attended school throughout all my formative years, something that is not widely available to children in our home country. Ultimately, I graduated college and began my long career in the insurance industry. Initially, I started as a fields claim adjuster for Progressive and several years later opened my first full-service sales agency with Allstate. In the decade of working as an Allstate agent, my team and I have achieved several accolades including the prestigious Allstate designation of Premier Service Agency for our commitment to providing outstanding service. However, what makes us most proud is the ability to educate our clients about the importance of adequate, affordable insurance and our partnerships with local food banks and elementary schools to improve our community.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
There is a saying that every setback is really a setup for a comeback. I truly believe in the power of those words as I have faced many challenges along the road including the unexpected passing of a love one at where my career was in limbo. While those were times of extreme uncertainty and difficulty, it forced me to dig deeper into finding what it is that I wanted to do and what I wanted out of life. Although it was a trying time, it made me realize that giving back to my community and others was something I wanted be a part of. It also made into an avid traveler, and the focused businesswoman I am today.

Please tell us about Misgina Insurance Group.
Insurance is far more complex than is often believed. One of my goals as an insurance professional is to help prospective and existing clients navigate through the complexities with an experienced agent by their side. Ultimately it is important to me that my clients understand the importance of choosing the right protection based on their individual risks. Often times in this competitive industry, making the “sale” trumps doing what is in the best interest of the client. I am proud to say that our agency always remains committed to putting our client’s needs first.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
I don’t know that I could or would have done anything differently. Life is a journey filled with valuable lessons along the way. I am blessed to use every experience as a way to improve my life and that of others.
