Today we’d like to introduce you to Jeremy Brooks.
So, before we jump into specific questions, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I had an affinity for music even at a young age, but my passion blossomed in high school through marching band. It started to take shape when a few friends and I started a band. We spent years creating and playing local venues. When the band fell apart, my love for creating music only grew and I created Swoon Supreme, the vessel for my passion and love for music and all thing Love.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Creating is easy because of everything I have lived through. The most difficult thing has been navigating the waters of the industry, even at this local level. Knowing who truly wants to see you grow and thrive versus those who simply want to prey on you and your pockets. At times it can leave me at a standstill, unsure of who to trust and who to not. So I’ve tried to focus on doing things myself and with folks I trust.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Swoon Supreme – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of and what sets you apart from others.
I am Swoon Supreme, a hip hop/soul artist out of Houston. If you ask anyone who has experienced my music they will tell you “it’s a vibe.” And that’s a fact. I take my life experiences and my love for expansive, engulfing soundscapes to create a type of hip hop that stands out against most my contemporaries. I am genuine and unique not only in style and content but also in my approach and it shows in my music.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
As I enter my second year as a solo artist, I intend to build and grow a Universe for my fans to exist with me in. Within the vibe of love and growth. I have a few BIG performances planned for the coming months so keep your eyes out for those!
