Jamarcus, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I started this company for my son Jamarcus Banks Jr (AKA Manman) six months after he was first born on November 12, 2014. I bought a snowcone machine and a cotton candy machine selling $1 snow cones and $2 cotton candy on the weekends after my 9 to 5 job I worked. I used to work on 18 wheeler trucks and decided to quit that in 2016 to pursue my son’s company full-time! On the weekends, I used to go around and set up in different areas selling snowcones and cotton candy in the sun all day coming home with a total amount of $40 to $50 for the day. It wasn’t all about the money though to me, it was more about the vision that God had prescribed for me and the passion that I had as well as the main reason of why I was doing it!
Which was to begin to break the cycle of generational strongholds!!! I never ever ever had any regret leaving my 9 to 5 when I did other than I should have done it sooner! On the day that he was born and the doctor placed him into my arms, at that very moment I realized life wasn’t just about me anymore but more about him! I will always do whatever it will take as a father to raise, guide and lead him in the way that he shall go. I won’t be able to hold his hand forever because that’s just life, but I will do the best I can in order to teach him how to fish where he will be able to catch, clean, and cook his own fish by himself someday!
Has it been a smooth road?
Success isn’t a straight easy path of course, but you must have the faith, trust and believe in yourself and no matter what, always be consistent in each and everything you decide to do daily! Rome wasn’t built within a day, but it most definitely was successfully built!
