Meet Lauren Bell, Loree and Keith Walker of Double Trouble Philly Cheesesteaks

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lauren Bell, Loree and Keith Walker.

We are a set of Identical twin sisters. Lauren is 7 minutes older than Loree. We are natives of Philadelphia, PA where we were born and reared. We love sports, debates, and great family, fun rivalry in addition to that we love God, Guns, and Good Food. Before I go on it is important to know that we are preachers’ kids. This is important because of our journey and where God has landed us at this point and time in our lives has been shaped by Pastor Lawrence Irving and old-time Pentecostal minister who made sure we knew how to take the high road and walk by faith and not by sight.

In May of 2019, our family went home back to Philadelphia for the high school graduation of our niece Raichel Irving and while visiting, I informed our only brother Lawrence Irving Jr. that his sister Loree needed to open a food truck. You see Loree prided herself in making the Philadelphia cheesesteak for Sunday night football games just as a means of getting people together and enjoying the game. My brother called Loree to collaborate on my calling for her life. LOL, We headed home back to Texas on June 2nd with this burning desire to do something different. We made phone calls, reached, wheeled, and dealt and September 1, 2019, we open our first Double Trouble Philly Cheesesteak company at the Dry Creek Social Club in Richmond, Texas where Mr. Payton welcomed us with open arms.

We have been pushing ever since. We have currently entered into our 3rd month of business and we are learning so much on this journey and loving every minute of it.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
The smooth road not by a long shot. The expenses and the capital to purchase supplies and equipment not to mention every city\county wanting you to have special permits for everything. Money sometimes for inventory was a big challenge but thank God we were connected to Bill Moore a Masterpiece who we were connected with during the purchase of our trailer. Mr. Moore has owned and operated restaurants and is a numbers man to heart. He has given us some great tools to work with and we continue to consult with him on a weekly bases as it related to inventory, operations, management. We could not have done any of this without his knowledge and encouragement.

Please tell us about Double Trouble Philly Cheesesteaks.
We own and operate an Authentic Philadelphia Cheesesteak truck. We sell the classic Philadelphia cheesesteak, the chicken cheesesteak, cheesesteak loaded french fries. We carry a variety of drinks and our specialty dessert the Philadelphia Water Ice in multiple flavours.

We are most proud of the fact that we are doing the darn thing. We laugh, we cry, we pray, and we get up every morning doing all again.

What sets us apart? OUr personality and ability to pull people in. We are different in every way and there is not a lot of competition for our service. We know in our hearts that there is enough work to go around.
