Today we’d like to introduce you to Cheval John.
Cheval, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I basically started the company in February of 2012 because I wanted to continue covering college sports. Over time, I pivoted the company to become a marketing agency which helps small to mid-sized businesses navigate social media to build a loyal audience.
I incorporated my podcast, “What’s The Word?” into the company because I knew it would allow people to hear other people’s story of how social media helps them to run their business.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not been a smooth road.
I basically had to juggle working part-time while I was building my business.
At the brief time, I had left the part-time work to focus solely on the company.
I ended up turning it into a side business due to working full time at a small hotel and it has allowed me to become more focused on what I want the company to be.
Please tell us about Vallano Media.
My company helps small to mid-sized businesses navigate social media to build a loyal audience.
I do not focus on quick growth because I understand that building an audience takes time because they are more savvy than ever and they want to know that you will deliver to them what your company promises.
You must engage with your potential customers on social media on a daily basis.
It does not mean staying on the computer or phone 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
It means just schedule out a time when you will reply to their inquiries or even chat with them on a certain topic that they care about.
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
Going to the airport and site see because I love airplanes.
