Meet Sincere The Jeweler of Voncello Jewels in Sharpstown

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sincere The Jeweler.

Sincere The Jeweler, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
As crazy as it seems, I got into the Jewelry field in the most crazy way. Fresh back from Los Angeles as a hungry entrepreneur videographer, I was in search of all jobs as possible. As I drove down Richmond Ave. I noticed a “New Flagship Location” song on top of a Johnny Dang sign. I immediately called the number posted and asked to speak to the person closest to Mr. Dang Himself, they transferred me to a gentleman by the name of “Johnny Boy”. He told me to take down a number and send a link to my work when I got the chance and he would get back to me. After a couple of weeks of waiting around thinking maybe I wasn’t what they were looking for. Johnny boy called me said he had been busy and wanted to arrange a meeting asap! By that Friday, I was meeting with his personal assistant. He said he liked the demo I sent in and wanted to put me to a real test so of course, I accepted the challenge but yet and still, I didn’t know what my test was.

The instructions I were given was be here with your camera charged at 11am tomorrow. Upon my arrival, I was introduced to Mr. Johnny Dang himself. He told me he had the migos coming in to pick up a new custom piece. So I knew I had to be on top of my game. After shooting and editing that footage, he loved my work I was then hired to work with his in house photographer “D will” after about three months I was getting to be around Jewelry and naturally pick up some knowledge about the difference in precious metals, different link, diamonds cuts, etc. My hustle was unmatched, I asked Johnny who ran his Instagram and he said “me and j boy post on the page thats it. So I asked him to allow me to login and post more often for him. Upon me getting the Instagram account, I noticed three things immediately.
1. He had over 10k unread messages from unknown senders.
2. He wasn’t interacting with hundreds of thousands of fans/customers.
3. His competition was posting more frequently than him and he was doing was more custom work than them, had way more celebs coming in and out of the store.

I was on the phone all day everyday posting new content, replying to any and all inquiries and making sure that his interaction was on point at all times of the day Johnny gave me three things that I needed
1. A price list for diamond/gold grillz (his most sold item)
2. Our turnaround times (beat all competition)
3. All payment methods.

After seeing the results of my work Johnny insisted that I put down the camera and be his personal assistant once I was put in that position I slowly but for sure started to gain a real interest in Jewelry especially as I began to do fully custom charms, rings, etc. for clients literally all over the globe. During my time with Johnny Dang I’ve experienced things and met people who I know I would’ve never met if I didn’t work there. But we couldn’t see eye to eye about fair compensation so after about a year with dang, I split for my own reasons I left. Once I split from dang, it was very rough me being a 21 years old upcoming jeweler with no source of a shop, a wholesaler, someone to learn from everything changed dramatically but I attacked the situation I found my own wholesaler who was very notable and did quality work. I gained clients from real-life promotions wearing my personal custom pieces out to events, parties, clubs even in the malls also I mostly promote on social media (Instagram) and now I’m still up and coming but becoming more recognized than before and I actually have pieces that I’ve designed or had the idea for even while working for Johnny Dang.

Has it been a smooth road?
Smooth road? It’s not a race its a marathon.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
