Today we’d like to introduce you to Jasmeen Wilson.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Jasmeen. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I was married and raising children fairly young at the fresh age of 20. I had dropped out of college at Sam Houston State University to raise my son and build my family with my husband at the time. I gave birth to my second son in 2009 and continued to work for The State of Texas, attempted to complete my degree in Communications, and work on my marriage and family. I made several attempts between 2005 and 2015 to obtain my degree and even pursued other areas of education with little to no success.
By 2015, my marriage had dissolved, and my children and I were living with friends trying to find our way through this new way of life. In retrospect, the ending of my marriage brought on the beginning of my healing and awakening to myself and the world around me. Between 2015-2017 my children and I experienced several life changes; being without a home of our own, finding and creating our home, I stepped into a new line of work, my oldest son began middle school, and I began the pursuit of my bachelor’s in psychology. It was during this time that I grew a love for mental health, astrology, and other divination practices. Tapping into these things was the catalyst and the methods I used to facilitate my healing and understanding of the self. Many transformations and transitions happened in that short two-year span, but it created this beautiful awakening and the tremendous growth that I am sitting in presently and will be able to carry with me throughout the remainder of my days in this life.
In the fall of 2018, I created a separate Instagram page as an outlet to express my gift of sight, love for tarot, thirst for astrology, and passion for mental health. I understand now that I created this page as an outlet, but more so as a way to hide my truth from those who’ve known me most of my life. I was hiding during this time. I had gone through another unsuccessful relationship, I began having experiences that I couldn’t explain, I was in therapy, and working on my mental health and healing. While going through all of these changes, I connected with an old friend, Shanell Chilo of Lizzie’s Charm for a reading to gain insight and direction by way of a tarot card reading. This was the turning point, or should I say the point of no return. I tell everyone, “I only wanted a reading”, but in turn, I received so much more, and I am forever grateful. It was through the reconnection of our friendship that I truly began to heal on a cellular level as well as mentally and spiritually. Holding yourself accountable for your mental, emotional, spiritual and physical health is one thing, but to have a genuine soul to hold space as you navigate through the abyss of these things is priceless; Shanell was that for me. She saw me truly.
One evening Shanell and I were conversing and determined my separate Instagram page would become a business, we juggled a few names around and House of Chiron was born in the spring of 2019! Chiron is known as the wounded healer in mythology and it is through healing others that he could heal himself. The story of Chiron fits my purpose perfectly as I will soon become a therapist shortly and will be able to apply the astrology and other practices that I have to my therapy. It was through Shanell that I learned most of what I know about astrology. Still to this day, we have our talks about the direction of our businesses, what changes could be made, and what we have learned thus far in life, business, motherhood, sisterhood, and so on.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
This journey has not been the easiest by far, but then again, who’s journey is? I experienced the loss of a marriage, loss of a pregnancy, loss of friends, troubles in family relationships, and so many changes within myself that I questioned my sanity and if the universe was punishing me.
Being a single mother, working full time, going to school full time all while developing a business is a lot to juggle, especially by yourself. I had to remove the limiting beliefs that I was not supported in my journey, whether by myself, the universe or by those who I felt were supposed to support me. It was at the moment of changing my beliefs of myself and the world around me that I gravitated to my soul tribe and the support from my family came in full force from those who were meant to support me. The universe provides me with everything I need, and I will continue to speak this affirmation over my life daily. I have researched the astrology associated with the awakening and transformations that have happened in my life. My South Node (karmic release) is in my 7th house of relationships, contracts and marriages in the sign of Scorpio and my North Node (purpose) is in my 1st house of the self in Taurus. While gaining the understanding of astrology, I see that it was through the hardships in relationships, and the contracts I created with others and the ways of being that was the catalyst to my north node energy of being myself and focusing on myself. This all may sound like a foreign language to most, but let’s just say, all of the hardships associated with others created the person I am today and the person I have yet to become.
We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
I am most proud that I provide alternative methods for understanding mental health and therapy. I will acquire several certifications in alternative healing methods in conjunction with my license in therapy and social work to ensure that I am a one-stop-shop for all who do not want to go the medicated route to mental health. Currently, House of Chiron has several offerings including Natal Astrology Chart readings, Solar Return readings, tarot readings, workshops on mental health, Healing through creative journaling and a Life Coaching/ Personal Development Package. I am in a place of gratitude, love, expectancy, presence, healing yet healed, joy, bliss, creativity, and optimism. I would not change my journey if I was awarded the opportunity. All of which made me who I am and none of what transpired in my journey happened to me, it all happened for me.
What were you like growing up?
I am the “flower child” of my siblings. The one with the biggest smile and loudest personality! I have always been this girl; smiling, dancing and making jokes. I believe my childhood is what groomed me to be the compassionate and empathetic person that I am today because my mother developed epilepsy at the same time as my father’s passing. Both of those experiences happening at such a young age in my life gave me the gift of being the caregiver, empath, and healer that I am today. On the flip side, I developed abandonment issues as well. It is through my healing within the last few years that I was able to pinpoint the start and get to the healing.
We are all in need of some sort of healing somewhere in our lives and with this understanding, I have made amends with my inner child. My inner child and I have fun, I nurture the little girl inside of me by mothering myself and stepping beyond the limits that society has placed upon me.
