Today we’d like to introduce you to Sabrina Pasha.
Sabrina, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
As a mother and working in corporate America, it was a balancing act. It was about working 40 plus hours for someone else and being away from my newborn. I struggled as I wanted to be with my child, as most mothers do. I was sleep-deprived from working, staying up for late-night feedings, and being a domesticated wife. After months of this going on, I felt like I was failing at this thing we call life. I needed to devise a better strategy. I knew nothing about creating a business but I knew I wanted to be in the beauty industry. I knew I wanted to do something I loved, something that was so powerful for building women’s self-esteem up and to be able to help and share with others.
After almost a year on contemplating on opening Brow Houzz, I quit my 9-5, drained my bank account, went back to school and training and opened Brow Houzz in 2015. I was fairly new in the area, didn’t have any clients when I started. I did a bunch of marketing and walked business to business introducing myself and Brow Houzz. After about a month, I had one client schedule an appointment with me and that client told her friend and the domino effect happened. Soon after about three months, I was booking ten brow appointments a week. I was so happy that I’m finally making my own money, my own schedule, being able to be home with my child and not missing any milestones was my drive.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
So far on this journey, I have been blessed. When I first opened, it was the hustle of getting new clients but how I am with clients is to be honest, straight forward and to just be myself. I know that not everyone will like me for how I am but it’s me. There are also amazing artists and beauty gurus that I’m supposed to be “competing” with but I see myself only competing with myself. I look at my numbers and see how I could do better.
