Meet Cindy Wolf Meador of Wolfies Swim School in Bellaire

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cindy Wolf Meador.

Cindy, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Wolfies was started in an above-ground pool in my parent’s Meyerland backyard in 2005. In 2007, I obtained a contract with the City of West University to utilize their community pool, giving me the ability to teach swim lessons year-round. This allowed me the access to work with and meet wonderful families, teaching their little ones to be water safe. In 2009, I hired my first employee to teach beside me. Skipping to present day, Wolfies now has a team of over 25 employees (including swim instructors and front desk staff). We are expanding into Bellaire with the opening of our new home base, an indoor heated year-around instruction pool, located on Cedar Street.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It hasn’t been the smoothest road, but it has been a rewarding one, for sure! The biggest hurdles that Wolfies have encountered and is in the process of overcoming would be the delayed opening and learning the ropes when it comes to building and construction.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Wolfies Swim School – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Wolfies, a family owned swim school, specializes in swim instruction for all ages. Our youngest clients are 4 months and our most senior clients are 60+.

Wolfies teaches students in classes of 3 of less, creating a more intimate setting than the industry standard.

Wolfies is most proud of our swimmers’ accomplishments in the water, becoming confident and safe. We believe in offering quality instruction and customer service, ensuring that all of our families have the best Wolfies experience possible. We believe in pushing each child within their own comfort zone. Wolfies is guided by the notion that active kids make for healthy, happy, and productive people. We provide swim lessons through safe and fun technique, by challenging and encouraging our swimmers to their fullest potential.

Wolfies also offers seasonal workshops for children participating in swim team try outs and youth triathlons.

Wolfies also offer at home lessons, mom and me classes, and advanced stroke classes.

Wolfies also has a monthly community outreach program where we partner with non profits and charities to spotlight and bring awareness within our swim community.

Since its conception, Wolfies Gives Back has hosted blood drives, swim-a-thons, toy drives, and bake sales.

Wolfies has had the pleasure of raising funds and donations for over 30 non profit organizations.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
We are excited to move into our new home base and navigating the waters of owning and operating our own facility.
