Lone Stars breeding program originates from the Gleanloch Farm bloodlines and has been breeding Straight Egyptians for over 15 years. We started with just one straight Egyptian Arabian but it was just not enough our business grew until we had horses boarding all across Texas. That was when we bought 42 acres of land in Magnolia TX so we could have our own facility to breed train and sell Arabians. Our farm can now board up to 34 horses, we have a covered arena, sitting room, 2 wash racks, a walker, and many grass filled fields for the horses to enjoy. Lone Star Arabians now has over 20 horses and is dedicated to not just the breeding and training of our own horses but also client’s horses. Read more>>

I was born in Venezuela and immigrated to the United States in 2004. I have worked with various oil companies such as Hess Corporation and Schlumberger. Having been laid off from Schlumberger due to a reduction in the oil prices, I decided to be my own boss. My present business, AG Insurance, was started in September 2016. With my knowledge of administration from previous jobs, the business is on the road to success, especially since everyone needs insurance. At the present time, I’m starting a new business in the same office by the name of Dreams We Make It Reality. I got the idea from my daughter’s wedding in August 2016, which we decorated ourselves. My journey has certainly not been a straight path. It has included a lot of turns, some intentional and some much unexpected. Throughout my childhood, I remember being imbued with a desire to learn about other countries and other cultures. As I entered college and gained friends of different nationalities and religions, many of whom are still my friends today, I was increasingly eager to understand the world. Unlike many young women around the world, I was lucky because my choices in friends, schools, professions and lifestyles were never defined for me by parents or social pressures. When I projected what I might do after college graduation, I thought I might enter international development due to my interests. Read more>>

We both grew up in small towns in North Dakota and Minnesota to hard-working, midwestern parents. Our parents were all relentless in their attempts in teaching us a good work ethic and paying attention to details. We definitely got lucky that way, learning early on that to be a successful person you have to put in the hours and treat people well. Fast forward through college, dental school, and getting married. The time came to decide where we would settle in. We had grown weary of the long winters in the northern states and were in search of a warmer home. For several years, we had already been planning details of our own dental practice. Read more>>

I worked from home for a number of years before realizing that despite the phone based interaction, the lack of true human interaction and engagement combined with the minimal movement (walking from the bedroom to my home office doesn’t really count as exercise!) was just not healthy. As I worked for a Security Company specializing in sensitive areas the whole Starbucks thing just wasn’t an option as I needed quiet, private space to speak on the phone. After looking at some Executive Suite type spaces I was so underwhelmed by what I saw that I figured there had to be a way to build something better, bigger, brighter and more dynamic while scaling to the point that the costs remain affordable. Growing up, I’ve always known that hard work, dedication, and education were essential in succeeding in life. My parents fled Vietnam in 1975 and came over to the United States with literally just the clothes they were wearing. They worked hard and long hours to provide for and raise 5 kids. These values were instilled in my sisters and me at a young age and we all went on to graduate college and find careers. I enjoyed Science and at a young age, so after being amazed with my first pair of glasses in high school, I knew I wanted to be an Optometrist. After completing my BS in Biology at the University of Houston, I chose the Illinois College of Optometry since they were the oldest and largest Optometry school in the US and were known for excellent clinical training. I had 30 years’ experience in the computing industry as a consultant working with the Fortune 500 before I started vCompute. I wanted to do something different in the computing industry that would change the way computing was used by corporations. Utility computing was the idea! Create a company to sell compute time to companies as a service allowing clients to use vCompute super computing resources when their own internal computing was overbooked. I started vCompute in September of 2003. It was not an easy road as the cost of the computing equipment and the expense of hosting in co-location centers was more that anyone could easily afford. I grew up a swimmer and eventually switched to cross country running in high school as it became apparent rather quickly I’d go much further with my run talent than what I had in the pool! Fast forward to the end of college and I bought a bike with the guidance of my now husband who was on the Texas A&M cycling team. From there, I put it all together and got started in the sport of triathlon. I was coached from the beginning by the founder of ORR who, at the time, was just an independent coach. A year or so later, the ORR team had been formed and I had earned my pro card and was trying to juggle a career in public accounting with the training + racing load of a pro….it was a lot! I’ve been writing for nearly 40 years, starting with Science Fiction stories in grade school. H.G. Wells was my favorite author, and I even won an award in the 6th grade for a short story about aliens invading Earth. I turned more philosophical in high school and college, studying the works of George Orwell and Aldous Huxley. It wasn’t until college that I became passionately interested in the American Civil War. It was right around that time when Ken Burns debuted his epic documentary, The Civil War, on PBS. I sat glued to the television, fascinated that there was actually a time when this country split into two separate nations, each with different dreams for their futures. Read more>>

I started in the oilfield, at the age of 18 in 1993. I was hired as a mud logger trainee, with Continental Laboratories, Inc. in Houston, Texas. For the next 10 years, I was a dedicated and well experienced hand, and my love for the oil & gas industry, drove me to be the best I could be, and I wanted to know everything about the drilling operation, and my learning never stopped. I had met a lot of people along the way, so I had a lot of friends, as well as contacts. My love for this life, led me to go to mud school in 2012. I paid my way, and used the company name of a sponsor. Read more>>

t the time I arrived in The Woodlands, there were limited options for private schools. My own children, having attended International Schools overseas, was the initial motivation for starting a school. There was no international school or curriculum at the time, and many families were looking for something else other than what was on offer in the area. I jumped in with both feet and surrounded myself with great teachers who were also disillusioned with the education system in general. We have had to overcome an exorbitant amount of obstacles, but being idealists and wanting to create a school that truly engaged in best practices, we were simply determined to ensure the school not only survived but thrived. After years of my daughter begging me to make her a mum, I didn’t jump in until she was in her second year of college. (Yes, there is much guilt felt on my part, however last year I made her an Obscenlyicious Mum for the fun of it and it hangs in her classroom where she teaches.) This crazy decision to jump into the mum world came to be because my son’s high school sweetheart deserved the best. I went to one of the local known mum creators and ordered a mum splurging! I spent more than I could even imagine. She told me to pick out anything I wanted on it, and I did. When I picked it up, what I thought was going to be a splurge of $250, ended up being $400. I had no idea I was adding on to the expense with the things I picked out. Read more>>
