Meet Somerset Green

Today we’d like to introduce you to Somerset Green.

Great, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
In 2013, Hines purchased a 46-acre land parcel and announced it would develop Somerset Green, Houston’s first guard-gated, master-planned community inside the 610-Loop. Since then, we have partnered with five premier builders—Coventry Homes, Darling Homes, Pelican Builders, Riverway Homes and Toll Brothers—to create a community where residents feel worlds away in the heart of the city.

In 2018, Somerset Green was named Community of the Year by the Greater Houston Builder’s Association and is proud to offer a new level of inner-loop living. Our high-end gated community offers a convenient, lock-and-leave, low maintenance lifestyle with amenities unique to urban living. The European-style neighborhood evokes an intimate living experience with elegant single-family homes overlooking walkable streetscapes, water canals, lush landscaping, a playground, dog parks, a resort-style pool and alfresco gathering spaces. Our residents have created a close-knit neighborhood in which they often enjoy happy hours on one another’s rooftop terraces, under one of the pergolas along the canals or by the resort-style pool overlooking the lake.

Hines is a privately owned international real estate investment, development and management firm with $124.3 billion in assets under management. Founded by Gerald D. Hines in 1957 and headquartered in Houston, the firm has a presence in 219 cities in 23 countries around the globe. Hines is largely known as a developer of trophy office assets like 609 Main at Texas, 910 Louisiana (One Shell Plaza), and Pennzoil Place, but the firm’s track record goes far beyond city-defining skyscrapers. Historically, Hines has developed, redeveloped or acquired 1,362 properties totaling 449 million square feet in a variety of asset classes including residential, industrial, retail, fine arts, and sports facilities. Our property management portfolio consists of more than 500 properties and 222 million square feet, more than half of which are managed for third parties.
