Today we’d like to introduce you to Duke Amos.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Duke. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
My story starts off just like any other entrepreneur. I had a problem and I wanted to find a solution. As a practicing attorney in Houston, time was a precious thing. In the past, a simple thing such as routine automotive care (changing oil, installing new tires) could take up a whole day in a waiting room, preventing me from handling matters that could put money in the pocket.

One day, as I waited in a local tire shop (sipping stale coffee and watching reruns of divorce court), an idea popped up in my head. What if the tire shop came to you?

That’s when the concept of Enroute Mobile Tire was birth. With that idea in hand, I started doing research and was able to custom build out our first mobile tire van. The van had the ability to deliver tires to a customer and have the tires installed and balanced all at the convenience of their home or work. Instead of customers having to wait in a tire shop for hours, they could go online (Enroutetire.com), purchase their tires, set an appointment, and have the tire shop come to them. We deliver and install tires new tires at home, work, anywhere.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, the road was not smooth. As an attorney, I had zero experience in the tire industry. But instead of giving up, I dove into the tire game. Learning the ends and outs of the tire business and actually becoming a TIA master tire technician.

Even with that experience, I still had hiccups along the way because this experience takes time to learn. When it comes to installing tires, there are many issues that can come up. The only way to know how to solve the issues that come up during install appointments is through experience. Knowing that I did not have this experience, I brought on a tire industry expert as a partner (David Murphy). With his knowledge, we’ve become a great duo and have led Enroutetire.com to a path for success.

Please tell us about your business.
We are a mobile tire shop. We deliver and install tires at home, work, or anywhere. The process is as easy as (1) Purchase, (2) Schedule, (3) Relax. Here is how it works:
(1) Customers can go online or call our 800 number to purchase tires.
(2) Once the tires are purchased, customers can pick a date, time, and location for their tires to be installed and balanced.
(3) On the day of the customer’s appointment, we send out one of our certified tire technicians (In our custom installation vans) to deliver and install the tires at the customer’s home, place of work, or anywhere convenient for the client.

At Enroutetire.com, we love the ability to make customers’ lives easier by saving them time on routine tire maintenance. We do all of this while helping them to avoid the hassle of the tire shop. This is what sets us apart from other companies.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
When my first van was finalized and we were on our way to our first tire appointment. The even better feeling was when we completed the job and the customer was so satisfied that he left us a $30 tip at the end.

  • Install of New Tires – $25-$30 dollars per tire (Minimum $60 call out fee)
  • Rotations – $85-$100
