Meet Lexi Reed

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lexi Reed.

Lexi, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
My name is Lexi and in 2016, I set a New Years Resolution to lose weight. I was 25 years old, weighed 485lbs, had a BMI of 78 and feared if I didn’t change the ways that I wouldn’t live to see my 30th birthday. I don’t follow a meal plan, have a trainer, and knew nothing about working out or eating healthy. My bestfriend challenged me to 30 days of not eating out, no cheat meals, no soda/alcohol, and working out five times a week for just 30 mins. I started counting my calories on myfitnesspal, started using the elliptical, took the foods I loved and started having healthier versions and learned that it was a lifestyle change, not a diet. Losing weight helped me to save my life and I ended up losing 312lbs in two years. Now I can do all the things that I couldn’t do before such as riding rollercoasters, fit in booths, walk a block, and it’s even helped me with building a better closer marriage with my husband as he lost weight with me as well. I don’t feel like I’m just existing anymore, but like I’m living, It’s not about the weight you lose but the life you gain!

Has it been a smooth road?
The road was full of ups and downs, and especially a learning experience that was worth it. I had no idea what I was doing at first, so I had to completely change my relationship with food when previously everything I did revolve around food. I was an emotional eater and revolved all my emotions around food. I had to change my thoughts about food and decide everyday was a positive day since weight loss is also mental as well as physical. The struggles were worth by the results and longer life.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Fatgirlfedup story.
I started my Instagram (fatgirlfedup) in 2016 and it has since grown to 1.2 million followers and I get to do what I love daily. On my page, I share what I eat, my workouts, how I lost 300+lbs naturally, transformation photos and more. I try to show others that they don’t have to feel stuck or how I did for so many years as if it was impossible to change. I specialize in helping others to lose weight and sharing my own personal journey. I also sell my own merch, run a youtube channel, have been on television shows, host weight loss challenges, and I’m most proud of the fact that I get to help people every single day. I think what sets me apart from others is I never expected by losing weight I would help myself, find a way to make it a career, and my dietbet players lose over a million pounds in my weight loss games.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
I’m hoping to still be running my page in five to ten years and continue sharing my story, I would like to continue my journey, continue to share the good and the bad of weight loss, and hope to write a book in the future.
