Today we’d like to introduce you to Ryan Harrison and Nathalie Harrison.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Ryan and Nathalie. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
We both come from a background in high-level athletic competition, working out and being physically fit. We have now turned our passion for fitness into a thriving business dedicated to transforming people’s lives, educating them in body mechanics, diet and how to live a healthy lifestyle. I (Ryan) am a Disabled Combat Veteran from the United States Marine Corps. When I was discharged, I moved to the Houston area without knowing anyone with the hope of establishing myself into the fitness industry and making an impact on other’s lives. Nathalie was an up and coming personal trainer in San Antonio when she became pregnant with twin boys. She had to put her passion aside, focus on raising her boys and being a full time mom. Fast forward a few years, some ups and downs and many obstacles. Our paths happened to cross where else but THE GYM!! Since then the rest is history, we have integrated our families, Nathalie is back to what she loves – training clients, teaching group fitness at SWEAT 1000 (in the Heights) Ryan has established a large clientele of training clients and cemented himself as a competition prep coach here in Houston. Together we have branded The Frontline Fit, a personal training company that does much more. We have evolved into personal training, online training, competition prep coaching and a successful meal prep company tailored to clean yet tasty eating!!!
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Nathalie’s journey has not always been smooth since the age of 16 she struggled with an eating disorder that engulfed her life, it wasn’t until she discovered competing was she able to begin to overcome it. Now by establishing The Fronline Fit she is able to use that, combined with the support of her husband to share her story and struggles to help other women overcome their own. She has also made the decision to be sober in life, and just this month has hit her three year mark, this was a huge milestone and shows just how strong she is and how far she has come.
Ryan is a disabled vet who deals with PTSD/Anxiety Disorder. He also has found relief through both training and the support of his wife to overcome his daily struggles and is able to help mentor others who may suffer from the same.
We both went through nasty divorces, but have now taken those hardships, turned them into learning experiences and now have a very solid marriage full of high standards and values.
-Meal Prep Company
We are a wellness company that focuses on client results. We tailor all of our meal plans and workouts to each individual’s goals and lifestyle. There are tons of fitness companies and coaches out there, but we pride ourselves in being invested in our clients. We give an in depth questionnaire and make sure to truly understand the wants and needs of each person we work with.
What we are most proud of is growing our business into a Meal Prep Company in order to be a “one stop” for clients~ train with us, we write your diet, we cook and portion your food. We renovated our home and installed an industrial kitchen to accommodate the growth and success of our business in order to provide for our increase in clientele. Our sons (9 yr old twin boys) help us with client meals and are currently learning the value of a dollar and the hard work that goes into growing and maintaining a successful business. So we are most proud of making it a FAMILY BUSINESS.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
We don’t believe in luck… We believe in hard work, putting our heads down and striving to succeed. We come from a background of competitive bodybuilding which takes and an incredible amount of hard work and grit, we take months of sacrifice and display it for all to see on stage. We put everything we have into that single moment in order to achieve our goals. So maybe luck plays a role, but for us, the desire to succeed will conquer all.
