Today we’d like to introduce you to Kim Pence.
Kim, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
My life is about transformation and healing and a near-death experience was the catalyst for a major shift I experienced in 2010. Initially, I came to Houston to study and then practice interior design and studio art. Ever curious about the transpersonal world of energy and the power of the mind, I wrote my design thesis on the psychological effects of one’s environment on their wellbeing. Shortly after launching my design practice, through a series of synchronicities, I discovered Feng Shui and became a professional practitioner incorporating the energetic art of placement into my design practice. That was in the 80’s well before energy practices like meditation, yoga, Feng Shui and energy medicine were widely accepted, so I kept the use of Feng Shui in my design work to myself. I saw it as my personal study project.
After several years and many design projects, I became fascinated by the overwhelming evidence that Feng Shui could effect positive change in people’s lives. Unimaginable shifts were happening in my client’s lives and I wanted to know more. I grew up with two family members who had a debilitating illness and were in chronic pain. I felt a strong call to help alleviate suffering in some way; I intuitively knew that complete healing was possible but I had no idea how to go about it. So, I went on a quest to discover how energy could be employed to help people heal from illness, chronic pain, depression, trauma and dis-ease whether emotional, mental, physical, or spiritual.
I’ve always been drawn to the world’s wisdom traditions, so I began my search there. I learned about Shamanism, the world’s oldest healing practice and began the journey of many years of study and initiations to become a shamanic guide. In 2010 during a long depression, I had a series of life-changing experiences that altered the trajectory of my life. It was time for me to come out of the spiritual and energetic closet, formalize my healership and teach other’s how to unlock their own healing abilities and internal wisdom. Along the way, I became a licensed massage therapist, reiki master, life path coach and a professional energy medicine practitioner to enhance my shamanic practices. I incorporate all of these practices into my unique healing modality which I call Soul Integration Matrix Realignment.
Today, I work with clients one-to-one and teach workshops, ceremony and facilitate vibrational energy healing experiences and shamanic journeys. I continue to practice Feng Shui and space clearing to bring spaces into balance and harmony with their inhabitants. I also teach energy medicine and breathwork in yoga teacher training in the US and in South America. Through my own healing journey and working with thousands of clients and group participants, I know that any trauma or illness can be healed, and I work to be a catalyst for transformation and healing every day. My mastery is to guide people to uncover their passions and purpose in life and to watch them take flight. I get to participate in miracles every day — what could be better than that?
Has it been a smooth road?
No, growing up witnessing people I loved in pain was heartbreaking. I couldn’t reconcile my innate knowing that healing was possible with their lack of getting any better despite everything they tried in Western medicine. The path of becoming a healer was not an easy one, It’s been littered with challenges, big and small. My unhealed childhood traumas turned into adult depression and anxiety, self-doubt and isolation. I needed healing. A near-death experience led to an abrupt awakening that challenged me to the core. I experienced a major shift in the perception of my inner and outer worlds, and started walking the path of putting my life back together. The journey has been challenging and rewarding. Ultimately, I’m grateful for those challenges, because they gave me the experiences from which I now teach. I learned that healing does not have to take as long as it did for me. So, I created a process that is fast and effective for anyone who’s willing to do the work.

I offer LifePath Coaching, Energy Healing, and Intuitive Readings one-to-one in person and at a distance. These sessions are tailored to the unique needs of each individual. I also offer space clearing, Feng Shui, and house blessings, which I’ve been doing for 38 years. I facilitate group energy transmissions and clearing sessions along with guided meditations and shamanic journeys. I collaborate with others to offer powerful, unique workshops and immersion experiences. I teach workshops in energetic self-care and lead sacred circles teaching ceremony and shamanic practices. I also teach the chakra system, energy medicine and breathwork in yoga teacher trainings.
I specialize in helping people heal and transform blocks, restrictive patterns, core wounds, past hurts, ptsd, ancestral trauma and limiting beliefs. That includes conditioning and programming, shadow work, inner child work and reclaiming inner authority. I love doing intuitive readings working with the akashic records and specialize in readings that bring clarity and confirmation to one’s path, answer questions and deliver actionable steps one can take with confidence. Basically, I use all of these avenues to teach people how to heal themselves and uncover their brilliance and their innate gifts so they can live fully expressed lives with passion, purpose and abundance.
What makes my work unique is that I’ve integrated multiple modalities into a cohesive original technique that creates rapid, lifelong change in people’s lives. This work is called Soul Integration Matrix Realignment. The work isn’t about going into psychoanalysis or therapy for years, hoping you’ll figure out what is wrong with you. This work is about going into the core of whatever is holding you back from your greatest life and healing it so you can move into your mastery.
What I’m known for is helping people create change in their lives and move into higher states of consciousness and connection to their true self and understand universal truths. My passion is to help people see themselves and the world around them from a broader perspective. It’s soul-stealing when we try to conform and fit in. We need to express ourselves as the unique individuals we are and be accepted, appreciated and loved for that. This is transformational, life-changing work.
I see things in quite a different way than the majority of people, and I get to own that. It’s a gift, not a burden. I have the ability to help people see themselves clearly and then to make choices from that clarity. We all need to be empowered to live from our authenticity and genius. We all need to know why we’re here, what we’re meant to do with our lives and my work does just that! I want everyone to be well, to be at peace inside and to know why they are here and to feel empowered to live their purpose.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
Houston has been my home, on and off, for 40 years. I’ve strayed to places like Marfa, Texas, Mt. Shasta, California, Ashland, Oregon, Taos, New Mexico and Chicago. What’s drawn me back to Houston time after time is the people hands down. The deep relationships I’ve developed over the years in Houston are wholly rewarding and richly diverse.
The intersection of consciousness and culture in Houston fascinates me. Places like the Menil Collection campus with the Rothko Chapel, the Center for Spirituality and Health in the Medical Center, the Hines Center downtown and the exploding yoga and mindfulness community with loads of free events make wellness and connection accessible to all. I love being a part of this community and growing my business here.
Being a nature lover in an urban center is challenging, and I often find myself drawn to the bayou at Allen Parkway. I love what it’s becoming and walking the lower path from Shephard to downtown helps me alleviate craving to be immersed in nature. The alleys of live oak trees that blanket the city provide a visual respite in contrast with the clear, strong light we are gifted with most of the year. The trees are a magnificent treasure that distinguishes Houston from other major urban centers and I appreciate that quality of the urban landscape. It helps me feel at home in the city.
One thing I’d be ok without are the 100+ degree days and sweltering humidity in high summer. They are rough. I love to travel, so summer is when I escape as often as I can to cooler locales.
