Meet Jerry Pollio of Applause to the Musician in Museum District

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jerry Pollio.

Applause to the Musician was created as a vision to empower, engage and create an additional outlet for musicians. The mission is to support the voice, spirit and character of musicians by professionally video recording interviews that feature their unique musical journey. There is absolutely no cost to those musicians selected to be interviewed aside from their time. Ideally, we can help keep music alive through these amazing stories for future generations to enjoy.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Building credibility is challenging and delivering a quality end product that best represents the musician’s brand. Scheduling will always challenge everyone, but with persistence and dedication, we can make scheduling work. Updates to social media, editing, and all the back end work, web, email, branding take enormous time and effort. Never a smooth road but certainly a road we are committed to following. In the end, the hard work pays dividends.

Please tell us about your work.
My strengths lie in my ability to communicate across all channels. I am the visionary leader who plans, schedules, coordinates, builds and directs the musician interviews. I work with the interviewees before the interview to prepare and coach them. I also work with our production team ensuring we are capturing the nuances of the interview. I am so proud to be a part of a project that is much larger than I ever anticipated. The positive feedback, the need we are filling and the worldwide community we are building. I would also add that this is our way of making a positive difference for these musicians who have dedicated their lives to the art and craft of music.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
The importance of building a coherent team all with unique skills. This efforts requires production skills, editing, marketing, communication, business and sales experience along with knowledge of the music business. I remain committed to the vision. However, I was not fully prepared for the overall commitment to the time each specific area requires. Lesson learned, do the research, reach out and ask questions to learn from those who have the expertise and open to help.
