Meet Boo Popi of WorldWide Pressure in Southeast Houston

Today we’d like to introduce you to Boo Popi.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Boo. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I started growing up in my grandparents home for as long as I could remember, I always loved watching movies like the temptations and the five heartbeats with my grandmother, before I the age of 11 I lost my father. Going through those times, music helped me stay motivated and positive. I have ten brothers and sisters, and I’m also the youngest out of the entire group. I was a multiple position athlete in my years of playing football, from the little league until the end of my senior year, after trying to go to college and not having the money to go I started thinking about other ways I could create a future for not only myself but for my family members and others coming behind me. During my younger years I always would freestyle after a while I started getting so good at it people would want to battle me every morning before school in middle school after so long a teacher even stepped up to challenge me I was only in the 7th-8th grade my Bestfriend Anthony Athomas always told me to take it seriously. Still, I never did. I thought football was what I wanted.

Going through different financial struggles, I chose to let football go and focus on making money. I still recorded songs with close friends and other people that I knew who was already rapping seriously. My uncle is also the famous hook man “Big T” from the Houston legendary song “Wanna Be A Baller” since the age of 10, I have been going to the studio recording and making songs. After putting out my first mixtape “Apply Pressure,” I sold out of cd’s standing in front of the Gallo for 3 1/2 weeks straight before the new year. Even when others didn’t support me, I told myself to beat adversity and keep going only the strong survive. Now here we are in the year 2019 alone. I dropped 13 different visuals majority shot by @deezymiaci5. Everything has been a working process, but it’s all coming together.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I’m the type of person I feel like if you trying to be successful and working for it the road is always going to be rough or bumpy, some of the struggles I have gone through made me the man I am today such as losing my dad or not being at a certain level, but I just don’t let any of those things get to me, I have a mission I must complete. Still, I think everybody has a struggle most of the songs I make come from the struggles that I went through, when I lived with my mom for a while we literally would have times of no water, no lights, no food, literally just barely making it. Still, I thank god for those times because they molded me into the young man I am now, and it makes me hungrier to make something happen.

Please tell us about your work.
WorldWide Pressure – Is a brand that I will grow and work hard to get in every market as far as management for athletes to get connected with sports teams, management for the artist who has the talent and a strong work ethic, and also make sure great high-quality merchandise is always available. I think about all the struggles I went through, and I know it’s another person in another city, state or country that can relate in some way. So we are taking everything we went through the unique story of the artist, not only BooPopi but also with AZ, AceMilli, and Dolla Bill, those are within the brand who have a great and interesting story that could inspire others. We come from the environment where others who had the potential to make fall victim to bad energy. What sets us apart WWP believes in the vision you must have a vision for yourself after that we can build it into something special and give it the right professionalism. I won’t motivate youth and bring people together even in my music I try not to give out the wrong energy because I represent my brand WWP and I speak for the ones who don’t have a voice, so I always have to make sure anything I speak out into the world is a positive vibe and positive energy.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
I am a hard worker, and I never give up even when I fail. I believe in what I’m doing. I have faith in my vision. I am prepared to take whatever consequences come behind my actions, but in return to myself, I make sure my actions are always respectful and never have bad intentions behind them I naturally want to see people I never met before win.
