Today we’d like to introduce you to Jalil Whitmore.
Jalil, before we jump into specific questions about your business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I remember watching Disney’s Fantasia and feeling a sense of enchantment as I watched these vivid colors and twirling shapes dance across the screen in harmony with the music. I was about five years old, and my mother said that my eyes were glued to the screen and I would always ask to watch that particular VHS. Reflecting back on that time, this is the first moment that I realized the impact of the audio/visual experience. Fast forward a few years, I encountered the art of storytelling with 3D visuals through Disney’s Toy Story, which then inspired me to pursue a career in 3D graphics and animation. Since then, I have studied the art of video creation and I’ve made it my mission to create content that resonates with people.
Has it been a smooth road?
After graduating from the Art Institute of Houston in 2009, I was faced with the age-old question “How do I build a career with this degree?” While working for various companies, I began to understand the magic of marketing. The years after graduating were filled with long days and late nights. During the day, I would work my clerical job but in the evenings I would pour what energy I had left into my personal projects, even if there was no guarantee of payment. In 2016, my full-time employment ended, and I was once again faced with a challenge, “How do I continue doing what I love, but on my own terms?” I love visual communication and storytelling, so video marketing seemed like the perfect answer for me.

Houston is a great city for digital marketing and media companies. I think more companies are starting to embrace digital conversion. The local economy has seen increased diversification which has allowed small businesses to thrive.
