Meet Amy Rollo of Cy-Hope Counseling in Cypress

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amy Rollo.

Amy, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I became the Clinical Director of Cy-Hope Counseling 4 years ago. Cy-Hope Counseling is part of the non-profit organization Cy-Hope. Since becoming the Clinical Director, the practice has expanded from a 3 counselor clinic focusing on play therapy to over 15 therapists with specialties ranging from child, adolescent, adult, couples, family, assessment, and speech therapy. My personal specialties are broad and range from child and adolescent to adults and couples. In addition, I specialize in assessing for learning disabilities, AD/HD and Autism Spectrum Disorders. My role is to meet you right where you are with respect, compassion, and non-judgement. I find it a privilege to journey with a client.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has been quite the smooth road working as the Clinical Director at Cy-Hope. Being able to do what I am passionate about is a joy. I love the opportunity to mentor young counselors as well as practice with a variety of clients. I currently have 7 counselors that I supervise and have the opportunity to watch their skills grow, as well as a full case load of clients that I am able to work with weekly.

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
I believe that family is the most important aspect in a child’s life. My favorite childhood memories are all with my family. Whether it be time spent in the backyard, on a vacation, or just an ordinary day at the park, spending time with my family is my fondest childhood memory.
