Conversations with the Inspiring Yesawanee Fuller

Today we’d like to introduce you to Yesawanee Fuller.

Yesawanee, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
My name is Yesawanee Fuller and I am the owner and creator of Tamed Natural Hair. I went natural November 2011 and from then until 2016, I was the typical product junkie. I would use and collect all types of products trying things out to help me with managing my hair. I spent a lot of money on products and had the hardest time finding something that would actually work. One day, I was out of products, sitting on the couch and ingredients came to my head saying, “Hey, you need to get this and that with the measurements.” It was so weird to me but I listen and put the products together and made magic. It didn’t dry my hair out, it lasted for days, and I immediately thought, “I need to bottle this.” The smoothie was the first product I created. From there, same thing happened, I heard a voice telling me what to do with the other products created in the Tamed Natural Hair product line.

Has it been a smooth road?
This journey has not been a smooth road. When I first started, I didn’t have any help and I built an overwhelming clientele.  I am a full time nurse and between working my shift and being a entrepreneur it made things even harder.    Don’t get me wrong, my first language is nursing but I am very fluent in culture of natural hair. The importance of how natural hair play in our society today is a passion of mines.  I ended up taking a break for about a year and basically lost the clientele I built.  Restarting my business weighted heavy on my heart.  I had so many requests to come back and various signs basically showing me I needed to fulfill my purpose and revamp Tamed Natural Hair.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into Tamed Natural Hair story. Tell us more about the business.
Tamed Natural Hair product line is all-natural, no chemicals, no alcohol and hand made. I take pride in my line more so because I know it can help many others manage their hair, promote growth, nourishment and moisture, whether they are relaxed, transitioning or natural. These products can be used for everyone, men, women and children.

It would be great to hear about any apps, books, podcasts or other resources that you’ve used and would recommend to others.
I’ve done a lot of research and have made many changes to my products since I first came out. I enjoy learning and growing my brand.
