Today we’d like to introduce you to James Houston.
James, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I have always done music growing up so being on stages was something I knew wanted to do full time, Everything really started when I started selling my CD’s around 2010 in front of local spots in Houston, The response I got from people motivated me to make more music, I met a lot of other artist that wanted to know who did the recordings, I would tell them it was me so I started becoming a recording studio for local artists in the city when word got around, Since then I have worked with so many artist from amateur to platinum selling, Once i started putting a team into place, that’s when the foundation of Campaign New Era, We signed a brief management deal with Lil Flip and Aj under Clover Gs to further our connections and fan reach, Alot was learned in that short time of management, after that we went back to managing ourselves, Then I went back to making more songs to release, once we had the music we wanted to get it in to hands that would get it heard, So We then met Goldtoes and signed a Distribution deal with GT Digital/Empire Records, We then went on to release the album “Texas” that we worked on with producers such as Mr. Lee, Big E on the beat, Ill faded, Harvey Luv and more also with artist Lil keke, Doughboy Sauce, Big Hawk, just to name a few, I have just released a album 7-13 in 2019 and am in the works of another project now, I am also still working with many other artist that will soon be making noise in the music industry also, Its more than just my success, Its about the New Era!!
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
No, I have been told no so many times it dont even bother me, I have been booed on stage and have been cheered, making music isn’t for everyone, you have to love it or you will never last

We are a recording studio (Houston Sounds Studios), artist management, artist development and Record Label, what sets us apart are the artist we choose to work with, We do not just do music with anyone, Its about the music
What were you like growing up?
I was quite til I started rapping, as I got a little older I would sneak out at like 15 and get to these rap battles and convince the promoters to let me compete, I won some and lost some but the overall confidence and respect I gained were life-changing.
