Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittany Reddick and Diamond Bowman.
Brittany and Diamond, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
The Boss Brand was founded in November 2019 by best friends Brittany Reddick and Diamond Bowman. Brittany was always the friend who had the perfect hair, she always got stopped and asked where she got her hair from or who styled her hair. I was very meticulous about hair, always making sure it was of the highest quality. Being that I was always stopped about the look and quality of my hair, I thought, why not get into the business of hair? I later brought the idea to Diamond and she agreed to start this new venture with me, little did we know it was much harder than just saying I want to sell hair extensions. We struggled to come up with a name that stood out, so we changed it a few times in the process. After agreeing on a name, we set out on this journey to start our hair company. We created an Instagram and Facebook page for our business and never looked back. We began promoting from both of our personal pages to direct traffic to our business page, we did a giveaway to gain followers and potential clients and from there our business took off.
Has it been a smooth road?
Initially, we thought that picking a business name would be our greatest struggle, but little did we know the biggest challenge was finding the best hair vendor. We purchased multiple vendor list from different Instagram influencers and tried countless amounts of vendors. After trying many vendors, ordering tons of samples and spending thousands of dollars we were on the brink of giving up. It wasn’t until Diamond stumbled across a vendor and decided to order her hair, that we found hope. We found the perfect hair for our company.

The Boss Brand is a small black-owned business offering women quality hair extensions at an affordable price. Our focus has been and will always be “Quality”. Anyone can sell hair extensions but are you getting the best bang for you buck? We have a quality control process in place where every bundle of hair we receive undergoes a thorough inspection. Not every bundle will always make the sales cut because we will not sell anything that we personally wouldn’t buy. By doing this, we ensure that we are offering our clients top quality products that will stand out and continue to be in high demand. There are thousands of people selling hair in the Houston area alone so whether it’s one sale a week or ten sales a day, we are just proud that clients choose our hair company as their supplier.
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Absolutely, Houston is a great place to start a hair company. Houston has a large demand for hair extensions especially as it is the fourth largest city and the population continues to grow. For anyone wanting to start a hair company go for it. It’s never a right or wrong time to start.
