Today we’d like to introduce you to Jailene Garcia.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
My journey started in 2015 when I was getting the idea of becoming a makeup artist. I would get on Instagram and start looking up influencers to watch their mini makeup tutorials. As well as YouTube helped me out a lot on how to do a full face of makeup. I knew I had to get it right on myself first before I can start doing it right on others. By the beginning of 2016, I decided to attend an outside makeup class to elevate my makeup skills. After finishing the course, I felt like I wasn’t ready or good enough so I kept practicing on friends and family. I did stop for about two years because I was working full time and barely had time to do anything or spend time with my daughter. I realized that makeup was my passion so by mid of 2019 i decided to quit my job. I was sure that I wanted to focus on growing my business and work my own hours. With the help of family and friends, they helped me get the word out. My clientele has been growing little by little ever since.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s been super challenging. The main struggle for me was being afraid to post my work and get negative feedback or have people think my work isn’t good enough. Practice makes perfect so I will keep pushing myself to become a better artist. Thanks to my family and friends that have been super supportive and help me stay motivated.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Jaileenes Beauty – what should we know?
My business is called jaileenesbeauty! I love doing all types of looks! It can be a natural look to a full dramatic look. What i think that sets me apart from others is how i engage with my clients which is very important. Always meeting their expectations and always being on time. Weather the look they requested is not exact but similar. At the end, satisfaction matters and so far I have accomplished that.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Having Integrity is very important. Being honest with clients builds a personal relationship with trust and confidence. Always having a positive attitude to reflect the experience for new and loyal clients.
