Today we’d like to introduce you to Luisa Flores.
Luisa, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Dancing has always been a big part of my life; I want to say I’ve been dancing since the moment I learned to walk. I became a mom at a young age I was 18 this changed my life completely, including the things I did for fun. I remember walking into a Zumba class back in 2010 and fell in love, I decided to get certified in 2012 and started teaching classes at local studios. I remember my classes being full of beautiful women. When I say full, I really mean it, it was always a packed class and I loved it. I decided to look for a place and create my own business. I quit my full-time job at a pediatric office to do something I loved. My name is Luisa Flores and I’m the owner of XFS Training I teach dance fitness classes, group HIIT classes and weight training. I am 30 years & have been married for 12 years to my high school sweetheart, we have two amazing boys. Loving my life and enjoying it to the fullest right now.
Has it been a smooth road?
I have the best help there is, my mom has been with me through the whole process. She’s been so supportive since day one, people just love her here I wouldn’t be able to do any of this without her. XFS TRAINING became a thing in 2013. This was either going to work very well or be a complete fail. I was teaching dance fitness classes as a full-time job at a small place that I will rent out for several hours a day it wasn’t necessarily mine but it was a step forward to what I really wanted. Three years later I moved location to something that was all mine this was one of the happiest days of my life!!!! The focus was to make sure I did something that made me different from others. I had already created my clientele & so many friendships, this is where I met Liz & Edith who have been helping me teach classes since then.
We’d love to hear more about your business.
I have always said this “XFS TRAINING is our SAFE PLACE!” The moment I decided to teach dance fitness classes I never thought It was going to become what it is right now. Every single class I was hosting about 50 or more girls per class. I remember we got to host a class with about 80 girls and this was daily. I would host weight loss challenges every single month; girls were dropping weight like crazy. I would have girls coming from all over Houston including Galveston TX. XFS started becoming more than just a workout place, it started to become “our safe place “. You might ask yourself why? You see, I started to listen to these girls’ stories, I would sit there and listen. These girls were dealing with depression, anxiety, suicidal thoughts, low self-esteem, broken homes, abusive relationships, grief, loneliness, medical illnesses and so much more. That’s the moment I decided that every single person who walked through my door had to leave feeling different, feeling loved I had to make sure that every single one of them knew how special they were. I tried to remind them of how strong they were and how capable they were of reaching their fitness goals and life in general. I’ll set up my playlist before class, made sure I added people’s favorites, I made sure every single class was full of energy, I wasn’t only teaching a fun High impact class , I was actually making a change not just in their physical appearance but emotionally too, and to me that meant everything . This wasn’t just a business to help me pay my bills, this became something bigger my mindset was to help each one of those who just needed a friend. It has been seven years since I created XFS training and it’s still standing strong I will forever be grateful to all the girls who have given me an opportunity to be a part of their life.

My business is located in Pasadena TX, the people in my community are so supportive. They have been since the moment I opened up location.
