Thanks for sharing your story with us Mr. Sed. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I moved to Texas in April 9th, 2012 for my 21st birthday. I thought instead of doing the norm, I would relocate somewhere for a fresh start on life. Hair Beauty is second nature to me. What I mean by that is, I know hair like I know the back of my hand. I remember growing upcoming my grandmother’s hair at night. Making sure all my little cousins’ hair was together & then some. Oh, please don’t let me forget that I’m a shop kid. Those were the days the smell of sprits and relaxer. I watch my aunt when I was little making people beautiful and I knew that one day I’ll do the same. Those were the things molded me and shaped into who I am today. I always tell my follow beauty & barber partners the salon is not what it used to be but I think I’m beginning to see a shifted. Even myself in this year along have unvested so much into my brand, we are taking the industry back. So today I got here from never giving up on me along with the people who held me up when I was falling, I can’t wait to share what I have to give to the industry very soon.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Smooth road of course not! I think that if you don’t have to work for something then it wouldn’t mean as much to you. Getting the 1500 hours to become licensed, working a full-time job and life itself. So many things coming at you at once but you have to stay on the path. I won’t lie and say there were some days & nights I wanted to give up but I have to many people counting on me. I have so many people saying you can do it. I guess one of my struggles was trying to make sure I didn’t let them down. I appreciated it, it fueled me to keep going.

Hello world I am Mr. Sed B and I am the skill press king. I am an award-winning cosmetologist out of Arlington Texas by way of Battle Creek Michigan. I am a Branding and Motivation Coach, 3x magazine feature & I specialize in pure and healthy hair growth. I am known for my silk press and braiding skills mostly but I dip into everything. I am mostly proud of the dedication I have for a clean brand. I can honestly say my name hold weight, value and I am very big on credibility.
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
I always enjoyed being with family and family functions. One of them would be going to my aunt’s salon on the weekend. Back in the day to now the salon is like a therapist session, you learn so much! So many stories from so many different backgrounds. It will make you become very humble as well as thankful for what life you do have.
