Anhais, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
The world of Bakery has always enchanted me. Since I was a little girl, I used to make simple cakes at home. This passion became a job in 2013 when I started planning my wedding and I wanted a huge and beautiful dessert table and I wanted to make all the desserts for my guests. I started taking some courses and classes to expand my knowledge and improve my techniques.
Thanks to this, today I can say that I have a successful business that goes hand in hand with my passion. I really enjoy doing it. And a funny tip that not many people know is my name is Anhais. Most people call me Antonella. Antonella is my little daughter; she and her little brother inspire me to be better in all aspects of my life.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
No, it was not an easy road. My bigger struggle was to restart again in a new country, my family and I moved to the United States a few years ago and I had to make some adjustments in my recipes and ingredients because they are not the same as what I got in my country of origin Venezuela. But I did it, and that made me start with strength, sure that my desserts are delicious with quality ingredients.
After this, get clients. In a country where I knew a maximum of ten people, it was not easy but I insisted without giving up until I did it.
Please tell us about Antonella’s Sweet Cake.
We are specialists in cakes, mini desserts and desserts table. We make cakes for all occasions, smaller for home parties or bigger for weddings, we can recreate your dream cake for your event like baby shower, birthday, gender reveal, quinceaneras, conferences, business meeting, etc.
Mini desserts are a wonderful option for your events. We make more than 12 different types of sweets with which you can sweeten and impress your guests, without forgetting that it is an excellent way to offer variety in one bite. Definitely, our flavors and textures are what make us feel most proud without leaving aside the presentation that should always be impeccable for us. We work so hard to provide our customers with beautiful desserts as they are delicious.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
Definitely marketing. It took me several months to find new clients and position myself in the market, so if I had to start again, that would be what I would do differently.
